on June 13 we have celebrated an important milestone: the Close-Out of the project Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female reserchers.
⭕️ Through this project, we aimed at narrowing the gap between female researchers in their early career phase and the labour market through facilitating a co-working environment for developing entrepreneurial thinking skills;
⭕️We have developed a programme based on 3 workshops on transferable research skills, on storytelling and pitching and on marketing tools which were tailored to participants needs;
⭕️ We received registrations from 105 early-career researchers from 5 different faculties Maastricht University and from United Nations University-MERIT and catered workshops for 90 participants;
✅ During the event our project alumni Etienne, Mignon and Anna reflected on the workshops and how the project mattered to them for capitalizing on their skills but also for boosting their confidence;
✅ Our panelists prof. Sophie Vanhoonacker, Dean of Maastricht University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Natasja Reslow, project manager of UMCares shared with us their key takeaways on how to boost one's employability capabilities.
🔜 Stay tuned as we will continue to talk about these issues and will provide with further services and products!
Your project co-drivers,
Dorina Baltag & Adina Petre

Navigating towards employability for female researchers in times of uncertainty 11/06/2019

Here are five things as advice from the launch of our project on Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female Researchers:
1️⃣ start thinking of your career path early in advance;
2️⃣ think of your career trajectory as a project: set goals and make action plans;
3️⃣ keep a list of your research skills and consider their transferable nature;
4️⃣ you are your own brand, so consider how to develop your personal branding;
5️⃣ research is not only about making discoveries but it is also about the story of your research.

Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female Researchers – Pitching and Storytelling 10/05/2019

Thank you Styliani for your insights on our workshop on Storytelling and Pitching; we love your take-away message:
✅ it is important for the researcher to know what message they want the people to leave with;
✅ pitching ideas and presenting the information are part of a researchers job, knowing the audience is key;
✅ people will not remember the methodology, rather they will remember the story about the research.

Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female Researchers – Pitching and Storytelling A few weeks ago, I wrote about a series of seminars specifically for female researchers made by Dr Dorina Baltag and her collaborator Ms. Adina Petre.
