ILSA basic information: umbrella organization

The International Law Students Association is an umbrella organization and a non profit association of students and lawyers who are dedicated to the promotion of international law. The organization’s activities include academic conferences, publications, the global coordination of student organizations, and the administration of the Philip C. ILSA Maastricht:

The International Law Students Association Maastricht is a chapter of ILSA in Maastricht. It’s a newly established study association at the law faculty of Maastricht University. Why did we start it? There are a number of reasons for the initiation of the ILSA Maastricht. They include the need for an association catering to master students at the law faculty. It has come to our attention that there is a lack of social cohesion between master students as well as a lack of proper guidance and career counseling for master students. We have therefore decided to solve these problems through ILSA Maastricht. Through ILSA we can also strive to unite bachelor students and master students in that they can complement each other and work together in certain areas. As ILSA Maastricht, we want to fulfill these needs instead of doing the same activities that every other study association at the law faculty does. Our purpose and goals:
Our main focus is on providing for a proper arena of networking between fellow students and with professionals. Furthermore we would like to make international law a more tangible subject for students interested in such. Thus, the purpose of ILS is to bring internationally oriented students closer together and closer to their academics and possible profession. Board:

Unique opportunity to work at "The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR)" as an intern! Interested?

"Currently, the ICTR Chambers is soliciting applications for internships to begin either 1 April 2012 or 1 June 2012. The internship may be for three or six months, though the latter is preferred. In addition to a general interest in international criminal law or international human rights, successful candidates will also have an excellent knowledge of English, particularly in regards to drafting legal documents. A working knowledge of French is desirable, but not essential. Current law students and recent graduates are encouraged to download an application form from the Court’s website:
