Hey everyone! 😀
As many of you received your ranking numbers just a few days ago, I'd like to share an overview of the technical information needed to get your ranking in the IB program, accept the ranking, and the 'waiting list.'
For the ones who applied to the numerous fixus bachelor's program in International Business at Maastricht University, the long wait is finally over!!!🥳
The first 899 prospective students received an email on the 15th of April, so check your inbox and spam folder.
You will receive a ranking number with more information through your Studielink account and via email from Maastricht University.
Important ❗️
Your ranking is under 899?
Do you have a ranking number? That's great! You have two weeks to accept the offer via Studielink. If you do not accept the offer within two weeks, make sure you have a backup plan. For instance, you can apply to the BSc in Economics and Business Economics program until 1 May 2021. In this program, you get a chance to do a specialization in the second year called International Business Economics, which focuses on global business.
Your ranking is over 899?
Don't worry! As soon as a prospective student rejects the offer or misses the 2 weeks acceptance deadline from Maastricht University, students with ranking number 900 onwards will move up and receive an offer.
It is pretty common for students to apply to several universities, and I know a couple of friends with rankings further than 899 who eventually got into the program of their choice. If you did receive your ranking and are sure that this is the program of your choice, don't forget to accept your offer! 😇
I hope this is helpful for you, and we hope you will receive the offer you want! If you have any further questions, let us know in the comment section.🙂

Is this your first time living abroad or away from your family?🌍 Then I’m guessing that the thought of looking for a housing is pressuring you quite a lot. 🏡🏘
Have you ever wondered what are the best places where to live here in Maastricht, or which types of accommodations the city offers? 🛌
Then that’s what we’re here for!
Maastricht offers any type of accommodation you could be looking for. From private or double rooms, to studios, to student residences or shared apartments.
Personally, I’ve been living in a big student residence for the past two years, however there’s plenty of people who decided to opt for shared houses and studios. 👩🏼💻📍📚

Did you know that, in 2022, the Netherlands were named the 5th happiest country in the world? 🇳🇱🏆
____
The International Day of Happiness was spurred by Jayne Illien, a United Nation’s advisor 🇺🇳, and was firstly held on March 20, 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣3️⃣. Its goal? 🎯 Recognize and promote the relevance of happiness and wellbeing as a universal human right! 🌐
While this 2022 year's theme is « Build Back Happier » and will focus on the global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic 🦠, some research on happiness and on how to stay happy in times of crisis has already been conducted at UM by Paul Smeets, also known as the Happiness Professor 😄. Results show that people become happier from the intentional use of time than from material things. "Making time for activities brings happiness", says Paul.
At UM 🎓, there exist several ways to ensure that we, students, are happy and healthy! 🤗 For example, the Wellbeing Movement (WBM) promotes physical and mental wellbeing and does so via 3 main events:
• The Wellbeing Week (yearly): a week full of workshops, talks and other activities centered around our wellbeing
• The Wellbeing Wednesdays (year-around): one Wednesday each month, entirely devoted to our wellbeing
• The UM Community events (year-round): several events a month, social activities by students for students and staff members
Almost a year ago (May 3, 2021), the Mindfulnest was introduced during the Wellbeing Week 🍃. The Mindfulnest is a cabin dedicated to peace ☮️ and quiet 🤫 where we can relax in our own way 💆🏻💭; we can catch our breath, listen to the meditation and mindfulness exercises offered, sit in silence, or even use our own meditation app 🧘🏽♂️. The Mindfulnest can be found at the Inner City Library (ICL)📚, Julia's favorite studying spot…and who knows, maybe also yours!🤔

Hey everyone! The SBE Career and Development Days (CDDs) have been up and running. The first day has already gone by, where we had a great lecture by Thijs Verheul the founder of United Wardrobe 👗, a company that got recently bought by Vinted the popular online thrift store you might have heard already heard of. There were also some exciting workshops with companies like Deloitte Belgium and workshops on how to build your CV and motivational letter, which I found very useful because l was not aware how important a motivational letter is. To see more about what it looks like you can follow on our Instagram page ( https://instagram.com/maastricht_sbe?utm_medium=copy_link ) and still be a part of the fun! This will allow you to know what to expect for your business days in the future!🥳
Don’t forgot if you have any questions, feel free to send me or any of the other ambassadors your question through PM.📨
Have a good day!😁
PS: you can check out Jeanne’s recent post for more info about the CDDs😉
