In a rapidly interconnected world, the challenges faced by anyone become the challenges faced by each one of us. The Deans of Leiden University challenge you to come up with fresh and novel ideas that contribute to the attainment of the Post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. In so doing, the collective brains of Leiden University contribute to making a better world. Discover the challenge that the Deans have conceived, sign-up either as an individual or in a team, take part in the workshops and device a solution. Each Dean will choose one winner who will have the opportunity to present their idea to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The first prize will be a trip to New York to attend an event of the United Nations Summit on the Post 2015 development agenda.

Organ-on-chip technology is used in drug research and customized treatments for patients. Research Institutes and industry join forces within the Institute for human Organ and Disease Model Technologies (hDMT) that was officially launched on May 18. Combining facilities, people and expertise will allow the Netherlands to become a global player in this technology.
