On Tuesday 25 August, 32 students from 13 countries received their Advanced LL.M International Civil and Commercial Law. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a hybrid ceremony was set up so that ICCL students and Thesis supervisors could participate either in-person or online.

Congratulations to the ICCL class of 2020! We wish you all great success with the next steps in your international legal careers!

This year, the Leiden alumni event took place in Brussels on Thursday, February 13 with a panel discussion on Brexit, chaired by foreign policy expert Dr Maxine David. Always wonderful to see ICCL Alumni attending such events.
Samuel Delcominette, an alumnus of ICCL 2015-16, is now a lawyer at the Brussels Bar (Belgium) and an associate at Lydian.

On 22 January 2020, the ICCL Adv. LLM was pleased to welcome Prof. Alexander Loke for the ICCL Winter Lecture. In his lecture “Hazards in Transnational Legal Transactions”, Prof. Loke touched upon the hazards resulting from transplants within a legal culture and highlighted the importance of contract drafting in transnational commerce.

On Monday 13 May 2019, the first ICCL Alumni Workshop: 'Practical Insights into International Legal Practice' took place.
Iacopo De Totero LL.M., who graduated from the ICCL in 2017, is an Italian qualified lawyer working as an associate at the Italian Law Firm Benedetti Lorusso Benedetti. In his practice, he has advised and assisted multinationals, foreign and domestic companies in their international transactions and cross-border litigation cases. Iacopo has also provided his assistance to US and Chinese Law Firms in dealing with domestic and private international law issues pertaining to Italian law.
During this workshop, the students applied legal theory already acquired in different ICCL courses to a real cross-border dispute.
