Dear members,
together with a bunch of other associations, we're hosting another fun party! This time the theme will be 🥁🥁🥁’Partysquared’! Be creative and come dressed as your favorite holiday of the year. Tickets cost €6 for members and €7.50 for externs, including a free first drink! You can buy your tickets now through the link in our bio. See you in the NEXT!!!

As you may have seen on the September calendar, we will visit the cat cafe on Friday 19th! 🐈‍⬛☕️

Tuesday 2 September: Opening academic year
We had a wonderful opening of the academic year with an interesting lecture by Dr. Jill Jeffrey with drinks at North End after! 🍻

Thursday 11 September: The Angler info session

On the 19th, Albion will visit Kattencafé Sophie on the Haarlemmerstraat in Leiden! Limited spots are available, so keep an eye out for the sign up forms 👀🐈

Thursday 25 September: ALV/General Assembly
On the 25th we will have our ALV where we will discuss some important matters and welcome the new board “Normal People”!
Afterwards we will get drinks at North End! If you attended the ALV, the first drink is on us 🥂

Or do you simply want to learn how to plan group trips? Sign up for the travel committee! Each year, the travel committee organises our trip for members to either the UK or Ireland. 🧳

Last year the destination was Bath, but we have also visited cities like Dublin and York in the past. 🇬🇧🇮🇪

Want to enhance your experience as an English student and make new friends, all while helping to create our student magazine? Join the Angler! The Angler is Albion’s student magazine (no, it has nothing to do with fishing) (please find this funny, we make the same joke every year). You can either write, proofread, or do both! Writers can write in whatever format they like, as long as they stick to the edition’s theme, think of poems, short stories, or articles. We also have multiple rubrics (GetLit!, GameOn!, ListenUp!, and WatchOut!) that return each edition, and some spots are still open for you to fill in! 🖋️📚

Each edition begins with a meeting where we collectively pick a theme, and ends with a meeting to nitpick each other’s (and your own) work! Proofreaders do what the name suggests: they proofread before an edition goes out and sees the light of day. Each member of Albion will get an Angler digitally with the biweekly, and each member of The Angler gets a printed copy! We even have some professors that contribute! We strive to publish 3-4 times per academic year. 🗞️
