Want to sound more natural in Dutch? Dutch speakers use lots of small words and expressions in everyday conversations that can be tricky to translate directly into English. Not every Dutch word or expression has a direct English equivalent - sometimes, it’s all about the tone, feeling and context.

In our blog, we explain everyday expressions like 'joh', 'zeg maar' or 'toch', what they mean and how to use them naturally in conversation.

These are also the kinds of everyday expressions we teach in our Dutch courses, helping you move beyond textbook Dutch and feel more confident in real-life conversations.
