Today, after prepping for the right tide, long and strong, we transit again the Singapore Strait. Had a good day, with 1 hour of extensive rain, almost no visibility. The rest was okay , engines running smoothly, no wind. And now a beer and Thai meal in Pinetree Marina.

Had a new experience, a starving starboard engine. Galloping and dying at rpm > 1500. But my Racor filter was clean and I had flow on the fuel. So did all the usual stuff and it did not improve.

Today I took the in-line of the Racor filter connected it to the air pump of my SUP and blew it out. Got the filter out of the housing and started with some rpm. Big chunks of debris and some jelly fish like marbels into the Racor. Stopped the engine, had to disamble the unit to clean it.
New filter again, high dose of fuel doctor and it's running again.

Let's see how she is doing tomorrow en route with some waves.
The core problem isn't solved yet. I need to clean my tank and polish my diesel. Not easy while on anchor in Indonesia.

I am so happy with the fact that until now I can fix every mishap or failure. A bag of tools, some spares and improvisation. Yep did it again...

After 3,5 years of sailing and ~ 33.000NM we had 1 delaminated flex solar panel which was changed as a warranty issue.
Proof of a good design and well executed electrical design and quality. 🙏👍

In the Anambas, Natuna area the wind in the evening, night is SE to SW and a bit gusty. So we are adapting our night routine. First if possible anchorage with South protection, ~50m of chain, second more room to South leeward side, third get the sun shades off, rolled up, before going to bed.

Sailing from Terengganu was a combination of too much wind and no wind at all. On the second day we had multiple weather systems and high winds and a lot of rain followed by no wind at all.

I did a bit of hand stearing on a downwind course with waves from behind. Conclusion the AP is doning a much better job than I can....🤓

This week we had 2 days of nice sailing which is in Malaysia around the equator, an exception. Not too strong, 10 knots, sometimes 15 knots for an hour or two.

I am always surprised by the speed of Kisladee. We are heavy, 14 tons, liveaboard, full water and diesel tanks, lots of stuff etc

Look at the B&G screenshot 13 knots TWS on a razor sharp course of 40⁰ AWA. It generate a 18 knots AWS. We do 7 knots of boat speed. The sea state is calm.

Part of it is upgrading the standard Dolye Jib with a Barracouta Sails 100% Genoa, still usuable at 40⁰, and the new Main. And on this trip I had my sail trim 100%. We out run every cat and mono up to 14 meters. Of course it is never a race. Yeach....
