On Friday, 28 August, almost 80 of our DP1 Economics students travelled to Amsterdam for a day of exploring how economics works in the real world. 📈
The morning took students behind the scenes at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB), where they explored topics including inflation, monetary policy, the role of central banks, and the history and social role of DNB - including a fascinating look inside the vault.
In the afternoon, students took their learning into the streets of Amsterdam, investigating local businesses and creating their own mini “basket of goods” to explore concepts such as CPI, price levels, demand, supply, and consumer behaviour.
Thank you to Ms Willemsen, Mr Jones, Mr Sydenham, and Mr Skarvelis for accompanying our students!
