The historic moment was witnessed by Million of people across the world after 50 years of the first group who traveled to Lunar.Based on reports for April 1, 2026, the crew scheduled to launch on NASA's Artemis II mission—the first crewed lunar flyby in over 50 years—consists of four astronauts:

The German Connection
While the astronauts themselves are American and Canadian, the mission features significant German and European technology:
European Service Module (ESM): Developed and built by Airbus in Germany on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA), this module powers and sustains the Orion spacecraft.
DLR Participation: The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is supporting the mission, with its German Space Operations Center (GSOC) in Weilheim tracking the spacecraft.
Scientific Instruments: Four DLR radiation sensors are installed inside the Orion spacecraft to measure radiation exposure for future long-duration human missions.
TACHELES CubeSat: A small German satellite operated by DLR, developed by the Berlin-based start-up NEUROSPACE, is also on board.

The Artemis II crew is set to perform a 10-day journey around the Moon and return safely to Earth, with the launch on April 1, 2026.Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969, during NASA's Apollo 11 mission. He was followed shortly by Buzz Aldrin, while Michael Collins piloted the command module in orbit. A total of 12 American astronauts walked on the moon between 1969 and 1972.
