**New date for the coming Imaka lecture: Monday 9 December**

The lecture was originally announced for 25 November, but due to the planned demonstrations that day (against the current government's policy towards science and higher education), the lecture is being postponed.

Due to ICT problems within our University system we have decided to postpone today’s seminar on Indigenous heritage in the Arctic.
We will plan a new date. This date will be promoted via our social media channels and via the newsletter of IMAKA [https://lnkd.in/ee44SQ5h]

Spread the word: it is still possible to register for our interdisciplinary minor Arctic and Antarctic Studies! This minor provide a broad social and ecological overview in Arctic human-environment relations, and is suitable for students from a variety of research backgrounds. We will strengthen the connection with the existing governance systems for the Arctic and the Antarctic and students will work on their presentation techniques and research methods as well.

Omdat Studium Generale Groningen op 6 oktober de lezing "Expeditie Spitsbergen" heeft geagendeerd, hebben we besloten de IMAKA lezing van 26 september te laten vervallen. Wel kunt u binnenkort weer een nieuwe nieuwsbrief tegemoet zien en wordt hard gewerkt aan de reguliere IMAKA lezingen van 31 oktober en 28 november van dit jaar en wellicht ook nog een extra lezing op 19 december.

Graag vragen we daarom uw aandacht voor bovengenoemde lezing die zal plaatsvinden in het Forum in Groningen.
Wetenschapsjournalist Gemma Venhuizen gaat in gesprek met SEES-expeditieleden student geologie Cecile Hilgen, socioloog Nathalie Steins, bioloog Martine van den Heuvel en DvhN-journalist Frank von Hebel.
