MICReLa - Mutual intelligibility of closely related languages

Delen

MICReLa is a project focussing on mutual intelligibility (the degree to which speakers of different languages are able to understand each other).

In Europe a large number of languages are spoken. These languages enjoy different statuses, some are officially recognized, while others are spoken by minority populations. In our project we want to investigate how well speakers from closely related European languages understand eac

Taalwetenschappers in Groningen hebben een online spel gemaakt waarin u kunt testen hoe goed u een taal kunt verstaan die verwant is aan uw moedertaal. TEST HOW WELL YOU UNDERSTAND A RELATED LANGUAGE AND WIN A PRIZE

Researchers of the University of Groningen developed an online language game in which you can test how well you understand a related language. By doing the game you help them with their research and you have a chance to win great prizes (tablet, Ipod etc.). Everybody can participate, it doesn’t matter how old you are, which languages you speak or what kind of education you have. You can participate by clicking the link below. Have fun!

Dear all,

We are looking for people with Swedish as their native language and a good understanding of English, who are willing to translate a few texts for us from English to Swedish.

Unfortunately we cannot pay the translators, but we can offer them a certificate from the University of Groningen that states they actively participated in our project.

So are you interested or do you know someone that might be interested in helping us, then please send an email to [email protected].

Many thanks in advance!
