Something nice for the alumni page!
A fantastic alumni success story!
Yesterday Class of 2015 alumnus, Xinxin Cai, returned to the IBS to share his business experiences with his former lecturers. Xinxin is based in Beijing and has set up his own perfume brand 'Scent Page'. His company has received a huge investment from high profile investors. It was great to hear how his business has developed and succeeded over the last two years. Thank you to lecturer, Dr Ning Ding, for arranging the visit.

Dear IBS alumni,
We are still looking for a few more alumni to sign-up for the 'help shape the future of IBS' meeting in January. New registration deadline: Wednesday 17th December. Please see the full invitation below. Thank you in advance for your support.
You are invited to help shape the future of IBS!
In Spring 2014 we've started the strategic journey with the position paper "Preparing professionals in a rapidly changing world" with the employees of IBS.
During a 3 hours’ meeting on January 14 (including dinner) we would like to take the next steps in establishing the strategy of IBS for 2015-2020. We would like to invite 15 alumni & 15 current students to participate and contribute to shaping the future of our school.
"The world we live in is changing rapidly. Technological advances continue at an unrelenting pace, and global demographics are shifting fast. Our economic models have led to enormous societal challenges in the areas of our environment, our use of energy, and our healthcare costs. Our schools need to prepare students for jobs that do not exist yet, using technologies that have not been invented yet, in order to solve problems that haven’t even been identified yet." (Position paper Preparing professionals in a rapidly changing world)
In the School, there is a growing sense that we need to re-determine the mission, vision and strategy for the school, due to these external developments in the world around IBS as well as internal responses to these developments that have organically grown into adjustments made in the curricula, and the identification of research strands for the School.
For an ambitious International Business School, which we definitely are, the challenge will be to find a fitting, promising position in the international ‘market’’ for business schools which is embracing all the unique talents and competencies we currently have. What should we deliver in the future as business school and what kind of talents/competencies will be needed to fulfil this?
Be at the starting point for the next chapter of IBS!
Please sign up with Anja Bos [email protected] before December 17th. (New deadline).
Venue: IBS, Zernikeplein 7, Groningen
Date: Wednesday 14 January 2015 15:00 until 18:00 hrs.
