VIP, Study Association Psychology Groningen

On the 30th of november, the Mind Over Marketing will take place again. This year, the event will take place at De Loods in Groningen. The event combines marketing and psychology, with a different theme each year. This year, the event is organised by the MARUG and VIP!

The theme of this year's MoM is: Impulse Buying; Controlling how people lose control. The event will last from 16:00 until 20:00 and has dinner included! Three speakers are coming to share their expertise on this subject. Next to this, there is room to talk to the speakers and broaden your network. By the end of the evening, we hope you know more about the unconscious influence we all experience!

Interested? You can sign up until Sunday the 27th of November. The costs of the event for members is €6- and for non-members €8,50,-. This price includes dinner and two drinks.

October has come to an end, and so have all the October activities! Around a month ago, we were officially hammered in as the 42nd VIP Board, and since then it has been great seeing all the new committees work hard on organizing fun activities for the students. So, hereby a fun October (& small September) recap!

Dear Master students!

We hope you are enjoying the first few weeks of your master. However, we know how hard it can be to get back to studying after such a long summer holiday, and how difficult it can be to get to know your fellow master students.

That’s why we decided to organize an evening out for you and your fellow students, to get to know each other out of the study context. Also, this is a nice evening for you to relax just before your first exams and show your fellow students your pool skills!

Participation is possible for every Master student, VIP members pay €1,50 and Non-VIP members €2,20. This includes your first drink!

So don’t hesitate any longer and join us Tuesday October 18th for the first Master Committee event of the year!

We are happy to announce that our DIES is almost starting! from 22 until 24 August, the week will take place.
The DIES Committee worked really hard for the last few weeks and are proud to announce this year’s theme:

In the the upcoming week, you will get to know Groningen more, as well as your fellow psychology students; it’s a perfect opportunity to meet people with similar interests and make some memories with each other! In the post, you can find the schedule with all the fun activities planned. The final party at Stadslab will be open for externals/people not participating in the rest of the DIES week as well! You can buy tickets for that via the vipsite.

Next to the DIES week, there will also be an introduction camp! The camp takes place in the first weekend of September. A perfect way to end the holiday with a bang!

After a relaxing holiday, VIP is back at the office! We will be at the VIP-Hok every Monday to Friday, from 11:00-15:00. If you have any questions or want to have a chat, always feel free to come by.

Now that all the exams and activities are done, it’s time for our summer holiday! VIP will be out of office for three weeks, so we will be back on Monday 8 August. Keep an eye open after the holidays for more information about activities like the DIES and the study start weeks!

This week, the University elections will be held for the student sections of the University Council and the Faculty Councils. Voting is possible from 16 to 20 May 2022.

Verkiezingen 2022 | Stem ook! Van 16 mei tot en met 20 mei 2022 vinden de universitaire verkiezingen plaats voor de studentengeleding van de Universiteitsraad en de Faculteitsraden.

On the 24th of May, the next General Members Meeting will take place. It will be at Grand Café Time Out with walk-in from 19:45 and we will start at 20:00.

During this GMM, we will propose some changes to our Internal Regulations so that in the upcoming year adjustments can be made to the annual planning and to some committees and/or structures.

Remember that it is mandatory that at least two people from every committee are present.
