Join us for the 15th edition of the Honours Festival on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, in the Academy Building from 14:30 to 17:00. During this interdisciplinary festival, students from the Honours College will present the projects they have been working on together over the past two and a half years. In total, fourteen interdisciplinary groups will present projects they have developed by combining diverse backgrounds, experiences, and areas of expertise. Take part in interactive workshops, watch a mini-documentary, explore particle physics through a board game, and much more! Kom op woensdag 24 juni 2026 van 14.30 tot 17.00 uur naar de 15e editie van het Honours Festival in het Academy Building. Tijdens dit interdisciplinaire festival presenteren studenten van het Honours College waar ze de afgelopen tweeëneenhalf jaar samen met anderen aan hebben gewerkt. In totaal zullen veertien interdisciplinaire groepen projecten presenteren die ze hebben ontwikkeld door diverse achtergronden, ervaringen en expertisegebieden te combineren. Neem deel aan interactieve workshops, bekijk een minidocumentaire, verken deeltjesfysica via een bordspel en nog veel meer! The Honours College would like to once again congratulate and welcome its new cohort of students! At the Welcome Ceremony, we were delighted to bring together such a diverse group of bright, enthusiastic, and ambitious students from all faculties of the University. This was an inspiring event that showcased the strong sense of connection and community that defines the Honours College, and its bond with the wider university. Thank you to our speakers, including Dean Joke Fleer and guest speaker Bas Gadiot, for making it such a memorable and inspiring start to this exciting interdisciplinary journey for our new cohort of Honours students.
Het Honours College wil zijn nieuwe lichting studenten nogmaals van harte feliciteren en verwelkomen! Tijdens de Welcome Ceremony waren we verheugd om zo een diverse groep slimme, enthousiaste en ambitieuze studenten uit alle faculteiten van de universiteit bijeen te brengen. Dit zorgde voor een inspirerend beeld dat de sterke verbondenheid en hechte gemeenschap laat zien die kenmerkend zijn voor het Honours College en zijn band met de rest van de universiteit. Amanda shares her experience in the Honours Programme!
Why did you choose the Honours College? “Meet new people from diverse backgrounds and do something next to my own bachelor. Up until now, I have completed courses on teamwork and improvisation, both of which I really enjoyed and are useful in my own field. On average, the programme takes about 3 hours a week, depending on the time. If you are a motivated student that wishes to meet new people, I recommend the programme to you!”

Waarom heb je voor het Honours College gekozen? “Ik wil graag mensen van verschillende achtergronden en verschillende studies ontmoeten. Het Honours College is een mooie aanvulling naast mijn Nederlandse bachelor, omdat ik de skills die ik in het programma opdoe in mijn eigen studie ook kan toepassen. Zo heb ik vakken over improvisatie en teamwerk gevolgd, en ik ben ik nu bezig met een verbredend vak over religie. Ik raad het programma aan iedereen die graag meer mensen ontmoet buiten zijn eigen studie aan!”
