【2026 GCI Spring Peer Review:
Where Teachers Learn from Each Other】

During our peer review week (28 April – 2 May), GCI teachers came together to observe, reflect, and refine their teaching practice.

Hybrid classes sparked fresh ideas for student engagement, while we remained grounded in what matters most: growing through student feedback and shared expertise to create truly meaningful learning moments. 🖐

Post-class discussions were full of practical insights—
"What new methods can I bring into my own classroom?"

And the most rewarding moments?
When students shared how small adjustments made a big difference in overcoming their learning challenges. 👍👍👍

【GCI Chinese Calligraphy Workshop at the Kamerlingh Onnes】

On April 8th, GCI held a fun Chinese Calligraphy Workshop at the Kamerlingh Onnes Middle School. Onnes

Students learned the basic tools and structure of calligraphy and practiced writing “福” (good fortune). They also added their favorite animals into the character, creating unique and playful designs 🐰

We explored how Chinese characters come from pictures, using simple examples like 三, 人, 日, 兔, helping students understand both meaning and form.

A creative and enjoyable cultural experience for everyone 🌟

💃【 Dance Performance at ACSSNL Spring Festival Gala】 ✨

GCI teacher Liuqing, together with six members of the Dutch Hanfu Society, took part in the Spring Festival Gala organized by the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in the Netherlands (ACSSNL).

They performed the classical dance Court Ladies Wearing Flowered Headdresses, gracefully bringing to life the elegance and charm of Tang dynasty court ladies. Dressed in exquisite Hanfu and moving with refined expression, the performers captivated the audience and showcased the timeless beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

It was a wonderful celebration of the Spring Festival and a meaningful moment of cultural exchange within the international community in the Netherlands.
