Studytrip Astatine - SSA

We are happy to reveal the SSA 2026 logo 🤩, and we are also excited to share our motto: “Uniting Perspectives, Shaping the Future”

Our day at the University of Chile’s engineering faculty, we had lectures on climate change, modeling, energy, and nanotech, a tour through the modern and traditional campus buildings. Closing the day in an open discussion with motivated students. In the evening we explored Barro italia and had some dinner.

On our last day in Buenos Aires, we visited ITBA and toured their labs and facilities. Highlights included meeting enthusiastic student chapters and exploring the city's culture. We enjoyed a museum visit and ended with a German-themed café before heading to Cordoba. 🍻🚍🎨

The second free day full of exploring in Buenos Aires 👏 with a visit to Ateno grand splendid 📚 , a toilet seat museum🚽, and many more impressive buildings . Ended the day with an unforgettable tango show, complete with dazzling performances and a delicious three-course meal. 💃🍷✨

Meet our Chief planning.

Hey all, I am Jelle Idzenga and this year I’ll be the head of planning for the SSA trip. I am a 5th year student, so one of the elderly of the group. I started with the study Robotics in 2023, after I finished one year of Solar Boat Twente.

I wanted to focus on planning of the trip because I really like to look into a country that we are visiting, and in this case even more because we have to communicate with companies in the destination countries. I hope they’re as enthusiastic about meeting us as I am about meeting them.

Hi there! My name is Tom Kramberg, I’m a first year MSc Nanotechnology student from Germany and I have taken on the role of the SSAs treasurer.

I am proud to have been trusted with the role of the treasurer and thereby the responsibility for the finances of the trip. Together with my Admin committee, I will make sure that every invoice and bill will be of german accuracy 😉!

Hi all! I’m Jim van der Veen, a third-year student in the Advanced Technology program, and I'm incredibly thrilled about our upcoming SSA trip!

I consider myself to be ambitious, idea-oriented, and inherently curious. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities, cooking, and spending quality time with friends 🏞️👨‍🍳👫.

You may recognize me from my involvement in various committees within the study association .a.astatine such as Educo, BOSS, or NiCat. Having found immense fulfilment in my previous committee engagements, I sought out a more significant challenge. This led me to take on the role of board secretary alongside being a participant on the trip within the SSA 💪

We're excited to introduce the incredible team behind the SSA! 🌐 Meet Justin Vleugel, our Chairman and student of the Robotics Master program.

Justin, already participated in the previous SSA but didn't hesitate to join the board for this adventure. He has explored already some amazing places, but these are still on his bucket list! 🌎

Did you know that the SSA is powered by 4 comittees? - Planning, Aqui, Admin and Design. 💪🏽 Whether it is composing the best route, reaching out to companies, maintaining socials or budgeting our trip, every SSA member plays an important role in their committee and delivers a valuable contribution.
