On Tuesday, our 2nd year students had a guest lecture by David Fernandez-Rivas. Part of MesoScale Chemical Systems, he is an expert in academic entrepeneurship. He gave a very interesting lecture on "empathy, promotion, and entrepreneurial skills for engineers."🤓✨

In this edition, we would like to introduce to you Pascal Wilhem.

Pascal has an extensive background in developmental and educational psychology, with passions for teaching, research and music.🎺🎶

As lecturer he mainly teaches social science throughout all years of ATLAS, thereby being very integrated and well received with our student 🧪⚖️

On the reasons why he joined ATLAS he stated that “[He] was invited to become a member of the core team of ATLAS, developing the program and teaching in it. What appealed to [him] was the innovative nature of the program and the opportunity to contribute to educating engineers from [his] background as a psychologist.🧑🏼‍🏫

Bachelor Open Day | University of Twente The Open Day is a not-to-be-missed event to dive into a bachelor's and to learn more about the University of Twente (UT) and student life on our beautiful campus.

Last week we had an amazing Faculty Kick-in where all the first year ATLAS students went to an accomodation "Goed te pas". Here we did a bunch of sport and art activities, and the students had time to get to know eachother and relax ! ☀️💗

Our Taster Day is in full swing right now in Drienerburght!

Visitors came all the way from Belgium, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Spain and even the US to get to know our study programme. They got the chance to listen to two mini-lectures and interact with current students and staff, ask their questions, get a taste of their future study programme!

The second semester project is about to start for our first years! 📚Within this semester project several workshops will be given by experts in the maritime sector. 🌊🐟

Starting with the workshop given by Øyvind Filling-Jansen: the CEO at Nofima AS and Chairman of the Board of Nord University Norway. 🗣🇳🇴 During this workshop he will discuss the topic of alternative proteins so be sure to tune in!!

Our 2nd Taster day for this academic year is taking place today from 10:00-13:00 on our campus and our very own Drienerburght building.

We were glad to welcome guests who came all the way from Amsterdam, Breda, and many other cities of the Netherlands to get a first hand taste of our programme so as to orientate and make their final study choice. They got introduced to our college, had two mini lectures from our social science and natural sciences teachers and worked on a mini project and of course talked with our current students. All this to simulate how their real future class in UCT/ATLAS will look like.

We hope this Taster day was informative, helpful and most of all fun!
