The new module has started so the first ever Merch Day is getting close!
For Merch day, everyone will wear an outfit consisting of as much astatine merch/committee clothing as possible 🦺👕🩴🎒. Arago and Alembic will also be joining so let's see if we can exceed them in merchiness and colour the homebase orange!💪

Oh and did we mention you will get an orange mocktail and homemade cookie if you show us your best Astatine outfit?

It is 2022, THE RETURN OF THE GALA.
Hello Astatine members and other aliens, after almost two years without a gala Astatine will celebrate its 3rd lustrum on the 6th of May 2022.
This year's gala includes a bus trip to the Waarbeekzalen, a three-course dinner and a full night of celebration with unlimited drinks.

There are only 100 tickets available so be quick!! (As people can buy max 2 tickets per allison subscription, the amount of actual tickets sold is higher than the allison subscription count)

We will meet up at 19:30 at Stadskantoor Enschede (Hengelosestraat 51, 7514 AD Enschede) for all the cool people living in the city centre of Enschede. From which we will drive towards de Spiegel, where we will have a second pick up point on the campus. For the second pick up point make sure you are there at 19:45. And from there we will move on to the Waarbeekzalen for a three-course dinner and an amazing night full of raketjes, rocket shots and many more drinks. We expect to return home around 2:00 am, for the ones that think they can still make it to 't G*t.

The cost of this wonderful evening will be €55,- per person.

On the 5th of March, we held our yearly Gala with Study Associations Proto and Atlantis. Our members came out in their finest suits and dresses to dance the night away. We had great music, even better people and an amazing photographer to capture it all.

It was surely a night for the books! We had a BLAST!

Last Friday there were project presentations from Advanced Technologies' Module 2 (Thermodynamics) and Module 6 (Systems & Control).

Our first year students were split into groups and had the entire quartile to design and build a refrigerator making use of two bicycle pumps and thermodynamic cooling cycles. Some refrigerators warmed up instead of cooling down but it was still a fun competition. It was especially interesting to see the different ways each group approached the problem.

The second year students, taking part in Systems & Control, were tasked to create a controller for a segway system and ensure its stability. The robustness of these controllers were tested with various challenges. These included making the segway drive up an incline and a segway football tournament. Some of our students, Ivana & Cai, even won this tournament and a cars cake!

On our Europe Trip through the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany, we visited Thermo Fisher in Brno, where they make highly advanced Electron Microscopes. We got a tour through their clean rooms and got to see their entire production line. Thanks for having us, Thermo Fisher!

Holandští studenti mikroelektroniky z University of Twente hledali v Brně nejzajímavější industriální místa a našli nás. Doufáme, že se jim film o tom, jak se staví elektronový mikroskop a factory tour u nás líbila. 🔬 Pokud i vy máte zájem o exkurzi, neváhejte nás kontaktovat!

The Astatine sailing weekend was a big success, with an awesome location in Tjonger!

In the past module, the Second Year of AT has worked tirelessly on their antenna's, for their project during the module "Fields and Waves". Many different approaches were used, but only one could be the winner during the competition this morning; Project group Marconi with their Yagi Uda Antenna!
