New service for international employees To better help international employees start their life in Twente, the UT is organizing a special program for them on the 3rd of September. For the first time, new foreign employees will be able to arrange all required formalities in one day and on one spot - directly on campus.

The coming Sunday 11 June you can visit the beautiful Volkspark in Enschede and enjoy the artwork of over 165 international artists and the music of the East Orchestra, the Dutch Travel Opera and the Twents Youth Symphony Orchestra. This Festival is organized every year and it attracts people from all Twente!

Every first Monday of the month, you’ll hear sirens at 12:00 (noon) for 1 minute and 26 seconds in whole Netherlands.

For many expats this alarm can be frightening. But do not worry, it is only a practice alarm (it’s called Waarschuwingsstelsel). It is a warning in case of a huge fire or an environmental disaster.

If the siren sounds repeatedly, it means that there is an emergency of some kind. You may also hear a warning over the public address system or from a loudspeaker. Follow the instructions and advice of the public authorities.
