Chemical Engineering and Chemistry is one of the nine departments of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in The Netherlands. The department prides itself on the high quality research in the field of process technology and molecular science in which we collaborate extensively with industry. But also contributes to solve societal challenges in sustainability, health and energy transition.

IGEM TU Eindhoven wins 3rd place in the TU/e Contest 2026 with their project SERTAN!🏆
With this project, the student team aims to make organ transplants safer and more effective. Their project explores synthetic receptor-based local immunosuppression, aiming to target only the transplanted organ, not the entire body.
Congratulations also to Blue Iceberg for the 1st place and Stacklink for the 2nd. Thanks TU/e innovation Space for organizing the contest and showcasing the impact TU Eindhoven students can have with their innovations! 💡

A day where little hands turned into real scientists… 🪄
On Saturday, 13th June, we opened our doors and welcomed children of all ages to our Magic Lab. They made shampoo and gel, creating unforgettable memories while experiencing what it feels like to be a chemist. 🥼🧪
It was a joy to help them discover the little scientist inside themselves.

Meet iGEM , a team of 9 students from TU/e working on a new approach to tackle organ rejection after transplantation 🧬
Current treatments suppress the whole immune system, leading to infections and long-term complications, while rejection still remains a major challenge.
Their project explores synthetic receptor-based local immunosuppression 🎯 aiming to target only the transplanted organ, not the entire body.
They’ve recently made to the finals of the TU/e Contest! We wish them the best of luck on their journey!

Lifecode Nutrition is a student startup founded by two brothers with a mission to make athlete nutrition smarter, simpler, and more effective. 🏅🚣
One of the founders, Alexandru Railean, is a first-year Chemical Engineering & Chemistry student at TU/e, applying science and engineering to develop nutrition solutions tailored to athletes.
They’re building precision supplement stacks and an AI-powered nutrition platform to help athletes optimize performance, recovery, and health. 📱
They recently presented their project at the TU/e Contest, showcasing their work alongside other student innovations.

Traditional boat propellers are loud, disrupt marine ecosystems, and physically damage fragile habitats like coral reefs. 🪸🐠
Meet the team behind the project: Francesco, Jaehoon, Doruk, and Daniel are developing a Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) propulsion system to revolutionize marine travel. By using electromagnetic fields instead of propellers, their motor offers a silent, sustainable, sea-life safe alternative to traditional engines.
