Gecko Green; the 24th board of s.v.i.d. Lucid! Get to know us, from left to right:
We start off with Savanne, the Commissioner of External Affairs and Vice-Chairman. Her passion for Italy is so big, that she spent most of the kandi trajectory there.
Next, Binc Hendriks our Commissioner of Education. Arguably the sweetheart of the group, ‘Bonque/Bonk’ draws a Gecko on every surface that he can find. Try and count all the geckos throughout the campus!
We move on to Jort Postema, the Secretary;
When he finds something cool, which happens on the regular, he says: ‘Oh wat vet!’
Head on in the center, our Chairman, Tessa Doornbos. She’s always down for a game of SET, until you beat her.
Up next, we have Sanne Jansen; our Treasurer and Commissioner of Member Development. An official decision has been made that our ‘Party Penno’ needs to dance when standing upon the bar.
Last but not least, we have Naomi Nohar, the Commissioner of Internal Affairs. Naomi has bought more Capri-Sun in the Lucid.bar and shop than beer.
We look forward to the year, and having a lot of fun with you. Come find us in the Lucid Memberspace or the boardroom on Atlas 2. We want to give special credits to for taking our picture, and an especially big thank you as this was his last time taking the board pictures.
X Gecko Green

While many are taking some time off during the holidays, there are still hard workers among us 😉. A group of Lucid members is working on a new online social platform for ID students to use during (and after) Corona times. They would love to hear your opinion on what the platform should look like, and how you've experienced student life during the pandemic.
If you could fill out this survey, it would help a lot!

We are a bit later with this than usual but the Introduction Committee is still organizing an intro for new Industrial Design students! To realize this, the kids need parents to guide the kiddo’s during the off- and online Introduction week! We want the kiddo's to become real survivors who have earned their spot on Winners Island, but this is only possible with the help of experienced daredevils. If you think you can handle this, we are looking for you! The theme of this years week will be: Expedition Intro.
*Because of COVID-19 a few things have changed:*
⏰The introduction week will be both on and offline and takes place from the 17th until the 21st of August
🏃♂️There will be 2 offline days (Tuesday & Thursday) and 3 online days
👯♀️ If you subscribe as a parent you will be expected to be a buddy of your intro group too. This means you will be available the first semester to guide first years students around, get them socially involved (in Lucid) and help them with (normal & online) student life. This will be low-threshold but there is some responsibility.
2️⃣Next year second year students (S19) can also apply to become an intro parent this year as an expection on the rule! (you have to expect to get your propedeutic certificate)
📲More information will be in the form below or have a look at the Introductionweek TU/e for updates.
Want to become a parent? You can subscribe in a duo via this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ynMQ-qyOxL6DUVeM7HdsIDzSJ6JODj6tpMlof_ixRFA/edit?usp=sharing
Hope to see you soon

Are you looking for an internship, graduation project or temporary project, Cube design museum offers four different possibilities in the form of Cube Calls! The four design challenges include: (Re)Design Death, Design for a changing society, Waste? and an open Cube Call. These challenges are part of the Cube in Residence Program and offer you the chance to work in one of Cube’s three design labs.
(RE)DESIGN DEATH: The way in which we deal with death and death rituals is partly determined by culture, religion, morals or the way we live; but also the spirit of times plays an important role. This call aims to break the taboo by talking to the visitors of our exhibition RE/DESIGN DEATH and other stakeholders about questions of mortality and immortality.
DESIGN FOR A CHANGING SOCIETY: We may not always be aware of it, but society is changing all the time. This call deals with learning from the current social limitations that we face as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic and designing for new ways to create meaningful connections.
WASTE?: We are facing various challenges regarding the (expected) scarcity of raw materials and the impact of their use on our environment. At the same time, we see that from a circular approach, waste and residual flows increasingly form a basis for new innovative materials. The challenge in this call lies in exploring possibilities and designing new products /applications based on new materials that can be developed from waste and residual flows.
OPEN CUBE CALL: How can you bring about change? What kind of future would you like to design for? What does ‘design for human needs and ambitions’ mean to you? This Cube Call offers you the possibility to think of your own idea or unique challenge.
Interested in a Cube Call and want to know more? Visit www. cubedesignmuseum.nl for more information and ways to apply.
