This upcoming Thursday, we’re ending the academic year with a blast during our final sports activity: Paintball! With only a few spots left!

We’ll head to the location together from Vertigo, where an afternoon full of action, strategy, and friendly competition awaits. All gear will be provided, so just make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move around in.

This week:

We start the week today with a Lunchlecture by Witteveen+Bos. Learn more about the structural design behind the redevelopment of Brussels Airport and a new mobility hub in Zwolle, presented by both an experienced and a young structural engineer.

On Thursday, it’s time for our final sports activity of the academic year: Paintball. Join us for an action-packed afternoon and show off your tactical skills on the battlefield.

Looking ahead, don’t forget to sign up for the End-of-the-Year BBQ on July 2nd ☀️. We’ll wrap up the academic year with free food, drinks, and plenty of gezelligheid on the KOeveld.

Lunchlecture Witteveen+Bos

Join us next Monday for a lunch lecture by John Ros and Friso van Spengler from Witteveen+Bos on the structural design of the Brussels Airport District and a new mobility hub in Zwolle.

They will take you through the ambitious redevelopment of Brussels Airport, including new transport connections, terminal expansions, and sustainable public spaces designed for future growth.

With perspectives from both an experienced and a young engineer, the lecture offers a unique insight into working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

This week:

Today, we kick off the week with the Welding Workshop, where participants will learn the basics of welding and get hands-on experience under the guidance of Raul from Castillo Lastechniek.

On Thursday, the Day of the Constructor takes place in Ede, bringing together students and professionals for a day of knowledge sharing, networking, and discussions about the future of structural engineering.

Also on Thursday, students are invited to attend the Demo Lectures for the Assistant Professor position in Hybrid-Metallic Structures. This is a unique opportunity to meet the candidates, experience their teaching style, and contribute feedback as part of the selection process.

Pusphaira Outdoor Football Tournament Recap ⚽

Last month, KOers took part in the annual Pusphaira Outdoor Football Tournament. After an afternoon full of matches, drinks, and fun, our teams finished 3rd and 4th in their groups! 💪

While we didn’t bring home the trophy this year, we had a great day on and off the pitch and proudly represented KOers.

Lunchlecture VeriCon

Join us tomorrow during the break for a lunchlecture by VeriCon. Chris Does will take us through the design process of an ambitious private villa, where architecture and structural engineering continuously push each other’s limits.

Discover how structural engineers tackle challenges such as large spans, cantilevers, and invisible structures, and learn which innovative solutions make ambitious designs possible.

Later that day, it’s time for the annual KOers x Mollier Beerpong Tournament. Join KOers as we take on Mollier in the battle for study association glory and defend our title!

On Thursday, VeriCon will host a Lunchlecture. Chris Does will discuss the design process of an ambitious private villa and show how structural engineers turn challenging architectural ambitions into reality.

Lunch Lecture Wagemaker

Tomorrow during the break, Wagemaker will give a lunchlecture on Applied Investigations in Structural Engineering Practice.
