Does your kid like solving challenging logical puzzles OR enjoys fun based learning for Maths OR in general needs any assistance in Maths ?

We build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands on learning.

Hello all.I hope you are all well and healthy. The COVID times have been a lot difficult for all of us. That's why, I would like to share something motivating.

We, at Kidzlab, have been using a very un-traditional way of teaching and nurturing talents for kids for about 3 years now in Eindhoven. We are proud to share that our techniques have shown tremendous results. We would like to share one such small success. A mathematical concept of solving Equations - has been a nightmare for most of us in school. The reason being that we were just asked to limit our understanding to find the value of 'x'. We were hardly shown any of its real life applications.

We introduced the topic of Equations to kids of 8 years old but in a very illustrative way of just asking them how much weight should be added to balance the weighing scale. Kids really took interest in the game and unknowingly they were solving linear equations in two variables. They even asked us for more challenging questions as they were not finding 'x' but visualizing the power of Equations. The age of 8-12 years in kids plays an important role in developing interest and motivation among kids for Maths. That's the reason we focus on this age group.

It really depends how the concept is explained to kids. You might think it would be too much for kids of 8 years to realize what is 3x + 2x. Let's look how Kidzlab approaches :

Kidzlab : Can anyone tell me what is 3x + 2x equal to ?
Tom (a fictitious kid, 8 years) : That is so difficult for us. We don't know what it means ?
Kidzlab : If I give you 300 euros and then I give you additional 200 euros. How much money do you have ?
Tom : 500 euros .. Of course !
Kidzlab : We are very happy with your answer and now decided to give you 3000 euros. Maybe an additional 2000 euros. How much do you have now ?
Tom : 5000 euros.. When do I get the money ?
Kidzlab : Ahahaa.. who knows maybe soon enough! Now try to replace 'x' in 3x + 2x with thousand. What do you get ?
Tom : Isn't it 5x ?
Kidzlab : That's absolutely correct ! Was it difficult ?
Tom : Not at all ! One question : When do I get 5000 euros ? :p

Hello all,Hope you are well and safe.I would like to share a small research and our achievement. The best age to motivate the kids for any activity is 8 - 13 years. Whether he is Newton whose inner desire to find the secret of apple falling OR the greatest Portuguese player to win 29 major trophies in his career whom we today know as Ronaldo. They have been putting out all their creativity since they were as young as 9 years. The motivation to live their dreams come from inner desire and drive. Eindhoven Kidz Lab has been following the same route to train young kids for Mathematics. The amazing results always surprise me. In usually every session, kids startle me with their brilliance and creativity. I would like to share one such experience.

We have always been thriving to get out the best creativity out of kids. Recently, I read an article about the great Mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss who just at the age of 8 years developed a famous 'Gauss theorem'. Interestingly, school teaches this theorem when students reach High-School. I have been already training kids for creative thinking for a while now. As a challenge , I gave the same question through which Gauss developed the theorem (without telling them about theorem). I was amazed when kids came up even with a simpler solution.

Every kid has a brilliance in them. It's our responsibility as a teacher to nurture that talent and bring out the best in them. I feel proud to coach the young minds. In fact, it really motivates me to see such talent in kids. The kids will build our future and it's our duty to guide them in the right direction.

Thank you so much for giving your valuable time for reading. What do you all think about it? Please share your opinions / experiences.

Hello all,
Hope you all are safe and healthy.
I would like to share my findings and analysis regarding how people perceive Maths. Being coaching kids in Maths in Netherlands for few years, the question of people seeing Maths as a 'Boring' subject always puzzled my mind. On interviewing several people, they say Maths is very theoretical. But in reality, Maths is not only about dealing numbers but seeing things in a different ways, thus combining insights with imagination. The beautiful nature we appreciate is a combination of various mathematical concept and puzzles. For instance, we all love and admire the shapes of petals of a majestic Sunflower. Those shapes are (in Maths what we call as) Spirals formed at an angle of 137.5 degrees. This angle might seem very weird but emerges from an amazing Mathematics concept called Golden ratio.

Maths is all about asking the right questions and understanding its implication. Most of us know that any number raised power zero is 1 OR factorial of zero is 1 OR you cannot divide a number by 0. But most of us never wondered the reason or never asked these questions in school. We just accepted. These things start accumulating and people leading to 'Boring' Maths.

It's the responsibility of a teacher to create these questions in mind of a child and let them think for a while. The best age to arise these curiosity in kids is 8 - 14 years. When I implement these concepts in my session, I see wonderful results. Not only the kids are confident but emerge as Math lovers. They thrive for more such concepts and are also learning to question such basics.

Thank you all for taking out your precious time and reading a small article. I am very curious what you all think as well. Please share your opinions.

Hello all,
I hope everyone is healthy and doing well. Does your kids like solving challenging logical puzzles ? Does the closing of school affecting his/her study or focus ? Is he (or she) having some problems in understanding the online content of school or in general needs any assistance in Maths ?

What we do ?

Eindhoven kidz lab has been organising interactive Maths session for about 2 years now. In our session, we teach Maths tricks, give them logical puzzles and play some games to help them explore practical Mathematics. In this way, we motivate them in learning and understanding application of Maths. We have a session of maximum 5-6 kids to ensure private attention to every kid. The kids in our session are of age between 8-14 years old.

Because of corona measures, we have started online sessions as well. Apart from fun Maths, we are also helping out kids for their school problems as well. Try us out and let your kid have the experience themselves. First session is FREE!

5 Ways To Encourage Kids To Grow Up To Be Innovators 06/03/2020

A really nice article. I summarize the five ways:
1. Play or let them play.
2. Foster creativity in their day
3. Help them find passion
4. Take the fear away
5. Long term purpose

5 Ways To Encourage Kids To Grow Up To Be Innovators In a world where children are discouraged from being innovative and taking risks, how do we raise the next Steve Jobs?

06/03/2020

What causes this effect? Is it really age? Teaching? or ?

As the date of Kangaroo exams in Netherlands is approaching, more and more parents are requesting us to conduct sample exams. So, for coming two weeks we will be conducting Kangaroo exams from past years.

After the exam, we give a personalized feedback to every parent and kid. Using our past experience of training kids for Kangaroo, we also give time management tricks which are a game changer. Kids have been using our time management tricks also in school tests and the results spoke for themselves. 😎

As it's said : "You win half the fight if you know your opponent ". Practicing the Kangaroo questions before hand already prepares the kid for real exam.

Bring your kid and experience yourself !
