⚽ High Tech Campus was the proud main sponsor of PSV Women for years. Last year, we passed that role to a consortium of partners under the main sponsorship umbrella of Fe+male Tech Heroes, a Campus initiative co-founded by Hilde de Vocht and Ingelou Stol in 2019.

🥳 Today we're celebrating the partnership's first year. PSV Women released an impact report last week, and it made us proud: girls surveyed say they now see technology as more interesting and can picture themselves in a tech career.

This is important because only 8% of people working in technology are women, while demand for technical talent, especially here in Brainport, continues to grow.

🚀 We see it every day on Campus: technology drives this region's economy. With more than 71,000 open engineering roles in the Netherlands, growth depends on more women filling engineering and other tech positions.

It's a big first step, and we take a minute to pause and celebrate. Then, together, we keep moving toward our goal: By 2030, it will be normal for girls to choose engineering and technology.

Congratulations, PSV Women and Fe+male Tech Heroes! 🙌

🎉 Big news! High Tech Campus resident scale-up Carbyon has been acquired by London-based Airhive, creating an Anglo-Dutch leader in direct air capture technology.

The two companies bring complementary strengths to the new entity, with Airhive's fluidization approach paired with Carbyon's fast-kinetics sorbent tech.

Early-stage R&D for the combined company will be based here on Campus, where the team will develop Airhive's next-gen "Cascade" technology that targets further DAC cost breakthroughs.

🍃 Carbyon, a TNO spin-off and HighTech XL alumnus founded by Hans De Neve in 2019, went on to win the $1 million Milestone Award of the XPRIZE Carbon Removal and is one of our most promising CleanTech residents. Carbyon’s patented technology is seen as one of the most promising for large-scale carbon removal.

We’re proud to see that work scale into a bigger platform to tackle carbon removal across Europe, and we're excited to continue hosting the R&D that comes next. 🌍

Congratulations to the Carbyon and Airhive teams! 🙌

Lab and cleanroom demand is on the rise, and it's not just multinationals anymore. Startups and scale-ups are increasingly looking for state-of-the-art facilities too, and they want speed and flexibility on top of that.

Rik Creemers and Emiel Westerhof from our team deal with these accommodation puzzles every day. They took us around cleanroom and lab spaces at Campus and explained how HTCE stays ahead with the rising demand.

📣 🤝 High Tech Campus Eindhoven will remain XIVER’s headquarters and technological heart, where the factory at HTC 4 will be further expanded as a location for complex, customer-specific production and development.

In an interview with Bart Brouwers, journalist at IO+ and co-founder of Media52, XIVER CEO Wil Van de Wiel explains how saying ‘no’ more often is helping the company grow faster:

“We moved from technology push to market pull. That has major consequences. You first have to know what you are truly good at.”

Rather than operating as a traditional foundry, XIVER works with customers from the earliest stages of development, helping transform innovative concepts into robust, manufacturable products.

Congratulations to the XIVER team! We are proud to have you as part of the Campus ecosystem and look forward to following your continued growth.

Otto van den Boogaard: “XIVER demonstrates what is possible when deep technological expertise is combined with entrepreneurship and a clear market vision. Their transformation into an open innovation and manufacturing partner is creating tremendous value for the wider ecosystem.”

📲 Have you ever tapped your card to pay for coffee? That started as a research project. So did the digital projector at your local cinema.

Both came out of ITEA, located at the AI Innovation Center since 2023. It’s a small (but mighty) team of 12, but they've worked with 2,600 partners over 25 years, connecting companies and research institutions across more than 45 countries to get ambitious ideas funded and built.

🚀 Last fall, ITEA held an info session at the AIIC about its annual Call for Projects. That one event resulted in three resident companies in global R&D projects that are underway now:

🔹 Wattvise is leading a project on renewable energy grid challenges. Univia, located at AIIC, TNO and High Tech Campus Eindhoven are also participating in the project.

🔹 Airvision (by Datacation) is working on a system that allows drones, robots and boats to collaborate autonomously.

We talked to Linda van den Borne-Toupet, Marketing and Communications Manager, about ITEA’s origins and the many partners they work with to create ambitious R&D projects that get funded and launched on the market.

🪄We call ITEA ecosystem orchestrators for a reason.

The Student Base finished its first six months, and the successful projects of the first cohort have companies lining up. 🙌

🤝 In collaboration with education partners TU Eindhoven and Fontys The Talent Factory, HTCE Ecosystem Manager, Hilde de Vocht, and Bert-Jan Woertman, Innovation Ecosystem Builder, developed the idea of a student hub and dedicated space at Al Fresco on The Strip.

It was a brilliant move, as students were suddenly in touch with the 300 people who came to The Strip for lunch every day.

Companies who work with Student Base get a high level of research and engagement, and students get rigorous real-world experience that goes far beyond an internship. And, as the technology labor market faces a shortage of skilled workers, Student Base is a strong investment in developing the talent pipeline locally.

🔢 By the numbers:
- 30 Fontys students worked daily on projects with companies on and off campus.

- 100% of the companies that used Student Base in its first semester are staying on.

- 21 paid projects are already booked for the coming year at €2,500 each.

At the recent closing event for Student Base's first cohort, there were pitches from a wide range of student projects carried out in the first six months.

⚡ There’s a different vibe at Al Fresco now. It’s crackling with energy. Innovation happens in real time. And everyone benefits.
