I wish everyone lots of language knowledge, one of the greatest assets of life. Being able to communicate with other people and cultures around the world: it's precious, interesting, and fun!

El 30 de septiembre se conmemora el Día internacional del Traductor y el Intérprete. Este día se conmemora el fallecimiento de Jerónimo de Estridón, traductor de la Biblia y santo patrono de los traductores. La celebración ha sido promovida por la FIT (Federación Internacional de Traductores) desde su creación en 1953.

En 1991 la FIT lanzó la idea de un Día Internacional de la Traducción oficialmente reconocido, para mostrar la solidaridad de la comunidad de traductores en todo el mundo en un esfuerzo por promover la profesión de traductor en los diferentes países (no sólo en aquellos donde se practica el catolicismo o el cristianismo). Esta fecha se aprovecha para difundir conciencia acerca de una profesión que se ha vuelto fundamental, tanto por razones de la globalización como para la comunicación entre las culturas.
