We are very pleased to announce that the Executive Board of TU Delft has appointed Prof. Mirjam Snellen as the new Dean of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, effective 1 January 2027.
Prof. Snellen will take over the role from Prof. Henri Werij, who will be stepping down as Dean after many years of dedicated leadership and commitment to the faculty.
After graduating in Aerospace Engineering from TU Delft, Snellen joined the faculty in 2003. Over the years, she has built a deep understanding of Aerospace Engineering and its community, while establishing herself as an inclusive leader committed to people, collaboration, and the continued development of the faculty. She has built an internationally leading research programme in the field of aircraft noise and was appointed Professor ‘Acoustic Data Analysis and Imaging for Aircraft Noise’ in 2020. She currently serves as Chair of the Control & Operations, is a member of the Faculty Management Team, and holds the role of Vice Dean.
Mirjam Snellen: “I look forward to working together with our staff, students and partners to further strengthen an open, inclusive and future-proof faculty, where education, research and societal impact go hand in hand.”
We warmly congratulate Prof. Mirjam Snellen on her appointment and look forward to this next chapter for the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
