Empowering the Future at the National TTO Day!
On Wednesday 25 March, our team headed to Ede for the National TTO Day, hosted by Nuffic. It was a day dedicated to inspiration, innovation, and most importantly…the student perspective.
Our students Liva, Lise (TTO VWO 2), Noa, and Tomas (TTO VWO 4) took centre stage in a student panel. Instead of talking about Generation Alpha, they led the conversation with us. They shared their views on the future of bilingual education, mental health, and identity. Their insights on what truly motivates them were eye-opening for everyone in the room.
The staff was equally busy: Mrs. Hoebeek shared her expertise by hosting a workshop for fellow educators.

We attended powerful keynotes by Hajar Yagkoubi (deciphering Gen Z) and Paul Kirschner (on the science of learning within TTO).
A fantastic experience for Mr. Lutke, Mrs. Hoebeek, Mrs. Verkade, and Mrs. Bos. We’re returning to school with fresh energy and a clear vision for the future of our TTO program!

Olmun 2024

Deze week zijn onze TTO V5 leerlingen weer in Oldenburg (Duitsland) voor Olmun. Gisteren was de openingsceremonie en zaten onze leerlingen met 700+ anderen in een grote hal. Pleun Riksten heeft heel dapper zelfs voor de hele zaal een openingsspeech gegeven!

Vandaag is de eerste echte committee-dag waar ze samen oplossingen proberen te bedenken voor onderwerpen als het recht om te mogen protesteren, de invloed van AI op onze economie en de oorlog in Sudan.

Daarnaast is er natuurlijk ook tijd voor ontspanning in de avond. Gisteren was er een bbq met muziek en vanavond een volleybal toernooi. Het is een feest om te zien hoe onze leerlingen zich profileren in zo'n bijzondere setting! Het is ook heel leuk om een TTO v6 leerling als één van de chairs (voorzitters) te zien.

WC Cricket 2023 is currently being played, but here in Assen, we are hosting our own cricket tournament. Today, all of our TTO 2 classes participated in cricket matches against one another. They scored impressive runs, were bowled out, and some students struck the ball with such force that it even hit the wall. The final match was truly exciting, with E2 vs P2, with the ultimate victor being E2A. Congratulations! In May, we will be representing our school at the Dutch championships, featuring a combination of students who showcased their skills today.
