Learning a language is like learning to drive. There’s theory and practice. Grammar is the theory, listening, reading, writing and speaking are the practical skills. Those skills you will only master by doing. That's why you get no classroom lessons with Language school En nu Nederlands. You will work in small groups, you practice and speak together. Additionally you follow your own program. If you need guidance, there are two experienced teachers ready for you. They are Vivika Voskamp and Anja Sligter. Answers to the most frequently asked questions
1.Hoe snel gaat dat - Nederlands leren? Het snelste is tien weken voor één niveau. Als je snel leert en 12 uur huiswerk in de week maakt, kun je in tien weken van A0 (niks) naar A1. De niveaus zijn: A0-A1, A1-A2, A2-B1, B1-B2. Dat is 40 weken van niks naar Nederlands op het niveau van iemand die net de middelbare school heeft afgemaakt. Omdat de staatsexamens tegenwoordig uit zes examens bestaat en je naast luisteren, lezen, spreken, schrijven en ook kennis van de Nederlands maatschappij moet hebben en werk moet kunnen zoeken in Nederland, is 50 weken realistischer.
1.How fast can I learn Dutch? The fastest track is 10 weeks for one level. If you learn quickly and do 12 hours of homework a week, you can go from A0 (absolute beginner) to level A1. The levels are: A0-A1, A1-A2, A2-B1, B1-B2. In other words, four language steps. That means you can go from knowing nothing to mastering Dutch at the level of someone who has just finished high school, in 40 weeks. Because the state exams currently consist of six exams and besides listening, reading, speaking, writing students must also have knowledge of Dutch society and should be able to look for work in the Netherlands, 50 weeks is more realistic.
2.Hoe duur is een cursus? Tien weken = 1000 euro. Veertig weken = 4000 euro. Vijftig weken = 5000 euro.

3.Met welke methoden werken jullie? Hoog en middelbaar opgeleide mensen die nog niets kunnen, werken met de methode CodePlus. Hoog en middelbaar opgeleiden mensen die al wel kunnen praten werken met de serie De Opmaat, De Sprong en De Finale. Op dit moment hebben wij alleen cursisten die in hun eigen land ten minste de middelbare school hebben afgemaakt.
3.What methods do you work with? People with a high and intermediate education who are absolute beginners work with the Code Plus method. Highly and intermediate educated people who can already speak a bit work with the series De Opmaat, De Sprong and De Finale. At present we have only students who have at least completed high school in their own country.
4.Kan ik een lening van DUO krijgen als ik deelneem aan een cursus van jullie school? Voor een lening bij DUO is het een voorwaarde dat de school lid is van het keurmerk van Blik op Werk. Het eerste jaar ben je als school kandidaat-lid. Bij een goed resultaat (een cijfer boven 6,4) word je lid. Onze school is 1 april begonnen en is dus kandidaat-lid. We zijn, voordat we begonnen, gecontroleerd op onze kwaliteit. Ook worden we de komende jaren nauwlettend gevolgd. De belangrijkste vragen zijn: zijn de cursisten tevreden en zijn ze in twee keer geslaagd? Op de eerste vraag kunnen wij nu al volmondig ja antwoorden. Uit de enquête die wij cursisten na afloop laten invullen, blijkt dat zij heel tevreden zijn. Ook de cursisten die nog les krijgen, zijn zeer tevreden. Op de tweede vraag kunnen wij geen goed antwoord geven, omdat er nog maar drie cursisten examen hebben gedaan. Zij moeten op een paar onderdelen herexamen doen. 4.Can I get a loan from DUO if I participate in a course of your school? To be able to pay a course with the money from a DUO loan, it is a condition that the school is a member of the Blik of Werk hallmark. The first year a school is a candidate member. After receiving a good grade (a grade above 6.4) from the hallmark, a school becomes a member. Our school has started April 1st, and before we started our quality was checked. We will also be closely monitored in the coming years. The main questions are: are students happy with the course and were they able to pass the exams the first or second time? The answer to the first question is a resounding yes. The survey out participants fill in after finishing the course, shows that they are very happy. The students who are currently taking the course are also very happy. The second question we cannot answer yet, because our students have not yet completed the exams. 5.Hoeveel huiswerk moet ik maken? Je streeft ernaar om elke week een hoofdstuk te doen. Een deel van het werk doe je in de les, maar een groot deel moet je ook thuis doen, als huiswerk. Reken op minimaal 12 uur per week. Er zijn natuurlijk allerlei omstandigheden denkbaar die zorgen dat je dat niet elke week redt. Wij hebben daar alle begrip voor. Indien nodig kun je altijd je contract verlengen.
5.How much time should a spend per week? In principle, you try to cover a chapter a week. Part of the theory and exercise can be done in class, but a big part of the learning will have to take place at home, as homework. You should count on at least 12 hours a week, on top of the lessons. Of course there can be lots of circumstances that cause you to go slower. We understand that very well. If necessary, the course can always be prolonged.

7.Wat gebeurt er nadat ik mij heb aangemeld? We nodigen je uit voor intakegesprek in het grand-café van Rozet in het centrum van Arnhem. Daar praten we over jouw achtergrond, je opleidingen, je doelen en welk niveau Nederlands je zou willen halen. We leggen je uit hoe we werken en wat we van jou verwachten. Als het nodig is, doe je een intaketoets.
7.What happens after I register? We will invite you fora n intake interview at the grand café of Rozet in the centre of Arnhem. There we will talk about your background, your education, your goals and what level of Dutch you would like to reach. We explain how we work and what we expect from you. If necesseary, you take an intake test.
8.Waar is de locatie? Wij hebben heel bewust gekozen voor een locatie middenin het centrum van Arnhem, zodat de school voor iedereen met het openbaar vervoer bereikbaar is. We zijn heel erg blij dat met onze lokalen in Kenniscentrum Rozet. Dit gebouw aan de Kortestraat 16 in Arnhem is niet voor niets uitgeroepen tot het beste gebouw van Nederland in 2014. Het bruist er, mensen van allerlei pluimage lopen in en uit. Er is een bibliotheek, een grandcafé, er worden cursussen en workshops gegeven en er is veel ruimte om te werken, een boek of de krant te lezen. In de pauze van de les kun je op het dakterras genieten van het uitzicht van Arnhem, op de Rijn en op het Veluwe-massief.
8.Where do the lessons take place? We chose a location in the city centre of Arnhem, close to the Central Station, so that the school can be easily reached by public transport. We are very happy with our classrooms in Kenniscentrum Rozet. This building is located in Kortesraat 16 in Arnhem and was given the title of best building of the Netherlands in 2014, with good reason. The place is alive with energy, all kinds of people walk in and out. It houses the public library, a grand café, courses and workshops take place there, and there are lots of places where people can study or read a book, magazine or newspaper. During class breaks you can enjoy the view over Arnhem, the River Rhine and the Veluwe massif from the roof terrace of Rozet.
