How can we get involved in addressing the issue of expired courses in Uganda and find solutions?

Stay informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest news and developments on the issue of expired courses in Uganda. Follow reputable news sources such as the Daily Monitor, The Independent Uganda, and Daily Express Uganda

Join advocacy groups: Join advocacy groups such as BW4ALL ONLINE ACADEMY that are working to raise awareness about the issue of expired courses and advocating for solutions

Sign petitions: Sign petitions such as the one organized by student leaders from four universities in Uganda, who converged at Makerere to sign a petition to NCHE over expired courses

Engage with policymakers: Engage with policymakers and lawmakers to demand accountability and action on the issue of expired courses. Lawmakers have already raised concerns about the implications of the expired courses issue, including the possibility of foreign universities turning away Ugandan graduates who studied the “expired” programs

Hold universities accountable: Hold universities accountable for enrolling or graduating students on expired courses. According to the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), institutions have to explain why they enrolled or graduated students on expired courses

By taking these steps, we can help to raise awareness about the issue of expired courses in Uganda and demand action from policymakers and universities to address this issue.

Attention all concerned parents and students! Have you heard about the issue of expired courses in Uganda? According to the Daily Monitor, most of the universities and tertiary institutions in Uganda were teaching hundreds of “expired” degree and diploma programs, leaving the fate of tens of thousands of current and former university students hanging in the balance.
An expired program is one not accredited or authorized to be taught
The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has listed at least 2,260 programs as expired on its website.This issue has sparked panic among universities, students, and the general public
Some foreign universities are turning away Ugandan graduates who studied the “expired” programs, raising the prospects of a wider implication of the problem.
The future of affected students is uncertain after years of investing money, time, and energy. They could be unwelcome for further studies and jobs in Europe and North America

At BW4ALL ONLINE ACADEMY, we believe that education is a fundamental right and that all students deserve access to quality education. We are deeply concerned about the issue of expired courses in Uganda and its impact on students. We urge all concerned parents and students to look into this issue and demand accountability and solutions from the authorities.
