“You will make AI mistakes. The race is who makes them first.”
Ruben Timmerman did not hold back. Yesterday, WTC Live brought together people from tech, finance and impact to dig into what AI really means for the way we hire, lead and build.
Merve Karaman pushed back on going it alone: “Don’t create ego systems, but ecosystems.” Merle Bartsch named the trap most organisations are falling into: we are confusing output for outcome, and without value AI will only make us faster at the wrong work. Rob Steur made the talent case clear: recruit for attitude, train for skills.
Thank you to everyone who joined.

Tech is moving faster than your teams can keep up. The real bottleneck? Not compute. Not funding. People, skills, and an understanding of the AI landscape we’re operating in.
On 21 April, four sharp minds dig into exactly that. Free to attend. Limited seats available.

On March 27, The School for Moral Ambition held their Fellowship Summit here.
38 fellows completed their first cohort. Lawyers, economists, consultants, communications professionals : all of them made a deliberate career shift to work full-time on to***co control, Europe’s food transition, and global tax policy. The results are already measurable: new organisations founded, policy shifts achieved, senior appointments secured.
The question The School was built around: could my skills be put to better use?
It’s a question worth sitting with.

What if ambition is not about climbing higher, but about choosing where your time really matters?
At our 40hrs Festival, author and co-founder of The School for Moral Ambition, Rutger Bregman challenged how we think about success and responsibility. He reminded us that we have around 4,000 weeks. The real question is not how busy we are, but what we choose to do with that time.
He spoke about the gap between impressive careers and meaningful impact. About talent disappearing into safe systems. And about how awareness alone is not enough. Change starts when we decide to act.

The city model of Amsterdam brings stories and data together in one place.
Visitors choose a story on the touchscreen and watch how the city responds through maps, colour and images.
It is a conversation starter about how Amsterdam is changing, what lies ahead, and the choices that shape its future.
Now free to visit in the lobby of Tower One and Tower Two at WTC Amsterdam.

What if leadership isn’t about having answers, but about asking better questions?
At our 40hrs Festival, futurist Adah Parris challenged us to rethink how we measure success. Not by what we achieve, but by what we design, and how we design it.
She reminded us that as we build AI to become more innovative, we risk losing our intuition.
Adah introduced us to presence as our most advanced technology. A way of recognizing invisible patterns. Of spotting what we normally ignore. Of leading not as commanders, but as stewards of attention.
She left us with a powerful question:
What type of ancestor do you want to be?
Because legacy isn’t something we leave behind, it’s a living system. What we create is creating us. What we destroy is destroying us.
The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think about.
