Dear neighbor and interested person in our concerts,

March 19 was the day. The first concert in the new series 'Musical Gems' was a fact and a great success! Harpist Carla Bos played a beautiful collage of contemporary compositions, some of which were written in our ongoing 'Corona era'.
We have received many positive reactions. We look back on that evening with gratitude in our hearts.

The March 19 concert also gave anyone who knew the old Cinetol building as a library the opportunity to see and experience the building in a new guise. The concert took place in a place you couldn't get to before: right under the peak of the roof! It’s a beautiful place with great acoustics. Someone in the audience compared it to the “Kleine Zaal” in the Concertgebouw!

Thanks to the district funding, there will be another beautiful concert this Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 pm in the series 'Musical Gems', this time provided by Jan Wouter Oostenrijk.

Jan Wouter is originally a jazz guitarist. He focuses strongly on connecting Arab and North African music, with Western music. He participated in the educational TV program 'Het Klokhuis', and recently he could be seen and heard in the TV program 'Free Sounds', in which he further explained his music. He is also founder of the Guitar School Netherlands, and teacher at Guitar School Amsterdam.

It promises to be an amazing concert, and we are therefore very proud that he will give a concert during our series, and that during the Muslim feast of Ramadan.

The concert starts at 7:30 pm, an hour before iftar meal begins, in the old Cinetol building.

Admission is completely free for 1074 postcode residents, registration is required.
