The House of Dentons Office in Amsterdam Forges a New Outlook for Law The new Dentons office in Amsterdam, designed by Studio PROTOTYPE, reflects the shifting culture of a historically conservative profession.

Studio’s PROTOTYPE’s Quay House has been nominated for the biennially Dutch Daylight Award 2020, category < 1.000 m2. The awarding takes place at the end of January 2021.

Aan de rand van het Coehoornpark in Arnhem is door de Gemeente Arnhem een kavel beschikbaar gesteld voor CPO-bouw. CPO staat voor Collectief Particulier Opdrachtgeverschap. Dit betekent dat u zelf, samen met uw medebewoners, co-opdrachtgever wordt van uw eigen toekomstige woonomgeving. In the previous crisis we designed a villa in Schoorl in The Netherlands. It is great to see the house is still relevant and can be seen in today’s FD Persoonlijk’s Design & Architecture special - the magazine of Dutch newspaper Financieel Dagblad.

‘House of Dentons’, the interior task of approximately 6500 m2 of the biggest law firm on Amsterdam’s Zuidas; Dentons, is realized. Studio PROTOTYPE collaborated with DZAP a design & build construction in order to get from first sketch to final realization within a year. The principle of ‘House of Dentons’ is a warm & timeless interior. The concept exists out of a variety of places with their complete own character that stimulates meeting & movement on the basis of intuition & openness. The central place within the concept is an atrium, that feels like the heart where the dynamics of the interior becomes visible.

The COVID-19 pandemic exposes the vulnerability of our healthcare system in an urgent way. With the idea of The Vital House, studio PROTOTPYE proposes temporary anti-virus centers that can be realized immediately.

Studio PROTOTYPE’s office moved as of October 1st, 2019 to Lijnbaansgracht 56a in Amsterdam. The new studio is located in a former factory for among other things, paper, tiles and metal ware.
The building, which has been designed by Jacob Frederik Klinkhamer, received the status of municipal monument in 2004. Within the complex multiple creative offices house, such as architectural firms.

The Quay House project, designed by studio PROTOTYPE, had been longlisted for the prestigious Frama Awards 2020 out of more than 1000 submissions.
Quay House is an attempt to stand still at the essence of live in times of cursory image reality in the field of interior architecture. The experience of light, air and space has been centered and by the open character social encounters and connections are being stimulated.
In February the definitive winner will be announced by way of a panel discussion organized by the judges.
