“Marije, what should I do?”

During our closing circle, my assistant shared how inspired she felt by how often I said, “I don’t know” during the last Nonviolent Communication course. And it’s true—I never know what someone else should do.

But what I do known is how to listen—deeply. To hear what is truly important for people and to help them find ways to take steps toward manifesting those desires.

I can support people in expressing themselves in ways that the other person can hear them.

Sometimes I joke that listening is my superpower. I don’t just hear words—I hear feelings and longings. And with these ears, I believe we can build relationships that thrive (and you will live longer!).

I can teach you this too: how to listen deeply, speak fully honestly, and stay connected even in conflict.
