Today, Public International Law & Policy Group - Netherlands Office celebrates the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.
In line with the theme for 2020, Women in Peacekeeping, UN , Antonio Guterres, asserted the importance of equal representation of women in peace and security. He also commemorated the 20th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which calls for the increase in the contribution of women as uniformed peacekeepers.
On this day, PILPG pays tribute to the nearly 3900 men and women who lost their lives defending global peace, and expresses gratitude for their invaluable contribution.
