What a lovely afternoon at our Junior School Council Toy and Book Sale! ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ“š Well done to the Junior School Council for their hard work in organising the sale and for raising money for the KiKa charity which supports children's cancer research, a fantastic cause chosen by the students themselves.

A massive thank you to our wonderful community for the overwhelming generosity and support shown at yesterday's fundraiser ๐Ÿ™Œ

We welcomed back the wonderful Angela from our Parents' Organisation as a speaker for a hands on workshop dedicated to all things university finances ๐Ÿ’ธ

Throughout the workshop, the Seniors learned how to accurately estimate their upcoming university expenses and walked away armed with real world budgeting strategies to balance their income and outgoings. Angela also demystified the funding and income sources specific to both UK and Dutch universities, clued the students in on tax thresholds and how to claim refunds, and left them fully empowered to make smart financial decisions from day one.

A massive thank you to Angela for equipping our Seniors with the tools and confidence they need to thrive independently! ๐Ÿ‘

What better way to start the final half term of the school year than with a masterclass in leadership from Year 3? ๐ŸŒŸ

A few weeks back, Efe stepped into the role of "Principal for the Day" as a prize from our December Winter Treat. Beyond tackling school tours and senior leadership meetings, Efe left us with a powerful framework that we are keeping front of mnids as we enter this final school term.

His philosophy is simple but a good reminder for us all: ALWAYS BE KIND. He defined six key pillars to help us live this out: Listening, Encouraging, Sharing, Helping, Understanding, and Including.

Let's bring this brilliant energy into the final weeks of the year! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ“š

Before the half term break, our Junior School hosted its annual Sports Day. Students competed fiercely in their house teams to rack up some major points, taking on everything from the classic egg and spoon race to the long jump, basketball, and agility courses. Thank you to all the parents who came out to cheer them on! ๐Ÿ‘

The action didn't stop there. Itโ€™s been a true family affair with our new Community Cup Challenge!๐Ÿ†We challenged our families to swap screen time for team time by completing physical activities at home. These home points will help boost the final house scores!

We are tallying up all the results and will announce the winning house when term starts. Which house do you think gets the crown? ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿฒ

Year 13 were sent off in style, wrapping up their journey at The BSA with the tradition of Spirit Week.

It included a nostalgic Dress Up Day featuring childhood career aspirations and the ritual shirt signing. There was also an especially moving moment where students reflected on their journey by sharing just one word to describe their time at school.

The celebrations culminated in the legendary Clap Out, where the entire Senior School gathered to cheer the leavers through the Globe one last time ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰

Wishing the Class of 2026 the very best of luck in their exams and the exciting new chapter ahead.

There is no skill more essential for life in the Netherlands than mastering the art of cycling ๐Ÿšฒ

Through our extra-curricular programme, our students have taken part in cycle safety sessions to build their confidence and learn how to ride safely. Whether they are balancing for the first time or perfecting their signalling, these lessons are about independence, safety, and embracing the local Dutch culture.

We are very proud of their achievement and their grins with their certificates suggest they're just as proud too! ๐Ÿ˜โญ

There was a buzz of excitement today as we held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate our brand new outdoor play equipment ๐ŸŽ€โœ‚๏ธ We were joined by members of our Parents' Organisation, staff, and most importantly, our enthusiastic Early Years children!

The construction project across from our school has completely captured our childrenโ€™s imaginations. To channel that curiosity, we used a grant from the PO Enrichment Fund to purchase equipment that mirrors the work they see through the fence every day.

A massive thank you to the PO for their continued support in enriching our students' environment. Itโ€™s amazing to see the "big build" come to life on our own playground! ๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Weโ€™ve had a brilliant first week back, capped off by an early, but fabulous, Kingโ€™s Day celebration! From crown making, to spijkerpoepen (nail in a bottle), and sjoelen (shuffledboard), our Dutch team brought the traditions of the Netherlands to The BSA.

The sun was shining and the school was filled with incredible crowns, capes, and all that orange! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Since the real deal is this Monday, consider this our royal warm-up. Enjoy the long weekend and Fijne Koningsdag!

To mark our 5 year anniversary at Havenstraat, we're taking a look back at our history. Did you know The BSAโ€™s home was once a 19th-century prison?

Five years ago today, we moved into this historic building, famously known for holding Dutch Resistance heroes like Hannie Schaft during WWII. Today, those same halls are filled with the hustle and bustle of school life and the joy and laughter of our students.

We are proud of our schoolโ€™s history and the fact that we've been able to take a building with a dark past and rewrite what it stands for today. It has also given our students some once in a lifetime opportunities, like meeting Selma van de Perre and Dickie Groenteman, two incredible individuals who were actually held in this prison and returned to share their stories with us.

Whatโ€™s your favourite corner of our historic campus or memory at Havenstraat? Let us know in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Our Early Years children love their FitNut sessions as you can tell by the photos ๐Ÿ˜ They get their bodies moving with several agility drills and then fuel up by making delicious, nutritious smoothies!

Starting this awareness and healthy habits early on isn't just about today but building habits for life.
