Love meeting new people, reading poems, and having conversations about your favorite songs over a cup of Chai? Then come on over to on Saturday, the 4th of May at 4 p.m. and read poems with me over some chai and cookies served in handmade ceramics by my dear friend .

For those of you who don’t write poetry, feel free to share something you’ve read that really speaks to you, or simply sit back and listen.

And for those of you who don’t like chai - don’t worry, we have alternatives!

Most importantly, the event is international-friendly, so poems can be in any language - it could be a blend of languages.

Nestled in the heart of Betondorp, Amsterdam, we are a trio of artists - a potter, a painter, and a poet - on a mission to ignite the spark of inspiration in everyone who walks through our doors.

Dive into our collective introductory workshops, where participants can explore a mix of creative writing, ceramics, and painting. Discover your passion and then delve deeper into the mediums that resonate with you.workshops

The culmination? An October exhibition at ‘Het Kunstlokaal’ showcasing the diverse narratives crafted by our community. Introductory begin in May, with early registration open now. Join us in shaping Betondorp’s artistic future.

“Welcome to The Green Lotus — we know it's a bit shabby, but for the next 12 months, this baby is ours! We aim to nourish, love, and help it blossom into something beautiful.

Here, we plan to open a gallery of handmade gifts, host poetry events and tea parties, and curate workshops where you can paint, write, and play with clay — the possibilities are endless!

Those of you who knew and loved Zonneweide Betondorp — which was right next door, by the way — will be glad to know we intend to bring some of its charm with us, featuring Nynke and her precious stones jewelry and Aniko with her beautiful ceramics.

But before we delve into more details, we’d like you to take a moment to follow this page and stay tuned for updates about who we are and our vision for this space. We’d also love to hear your ideas, of course.

Because at The Green Lotus, community is at the heart of our philosophy.
