laboratorium di butoh

Voor geinteresseerden.

Ik ben al een aantal jaren bezig met Butoh. Ik kom oorspronkelijk uit de beeldende kunsten en de mime/pantomime, clowning and tai Chi/Chi Kung

Ik zie het werk als een onderzoek..een laboratorium.

Butoh is ontstaan als een uiting van de situatie, na een nucleaire oorlog, zoals er in hiroshima en nagasaki was.

We leven in een tijd die weer enorme veranderingen met zich mee brengt en ik denk dat de butoh daar een rol in kan spelen.
Het sluit bij mij aan op dat de hele verandering vooral een innerlijke verandering/bewustwording vraagt.
Voor mij is butoh vooral een innerlijk proces dus dit sluit mooi aan vooral vanuit de fysiek.
De dans heeft vooral geen expressie te geven maar het laten ontstaan..
Het is vooral een zich laten bewegen...dus wat drijft jouw beweging? Hoe maken we ons bewust waar die impuls vandaan komt.
Dit is vooral het onderzoek waar de workshop een impuls toe wil geven.

BUTOH

Butoh is an experience, not like any performance as it shows what is underneath and hidden in plain sight.
Butoh is always new, always modern as time has no meaning in what is true.

This cannot put into words nor described. Coming from a truely understanding all the suffering of human kind.
And the joy of living a true life free from conventions. In that respect it can be totally unsettling.
The movement comes from emptiness, a zero point where there's nothing, a void, yet full of life so creation.
It's where there is freedom so vast that it cannot be understood.
An empty space, a freedom, powerfully creativ and liberating for those who see and 'understand'..
Creativ in the moment coming from letting go of everything striving to express anything.
It's true emptiness and liberating that can unsettle people. The point of absolute stillness.
The one point of immobility where the dance of creation begins.
In order to receive, even for the audience, you have to step aside. The ego subsides.
The point where stillness and movement are inseperately one and the same.
When you know stillness you know the dance.
Poetic dance but it is as poems can be....like a haiku.

As human beings we strive to be free and a butoh dancer understands that only the body truely knows freedom.
As a dancer steps aside to let the body speak, the body speaks unspoken words in every gesture.
It speaks of a creativ force, which holds the universe together.
In butoh the dancer shows where our true potential lies...
In that respect butoh is truely liberating, not only for the dancer but the audience can experience this too...
