So happy to have produced in our atelier in the heart of Amsterdam for this local sustainable fashion brand on the Less dress. Jolin has recently moved to a farm in the east of the Netherlands to explore how materials derive from nature and other regenerative solutions. It’s an experiment for the brand to take their sustainable mission one step further by moving closer to nature 🌱

Less and Local are the key words for ! 💙

The special thing about the Less dress lies in the local manufacturing process and the fabric. No dyes were used at all to get the beautiful beige color. This is organic cotton that is so-called 'color grown'. This means that in addition to the usual white cotton fluff, naturally grown brown has also been selected. Together, the two colors of yarn create a beautiful, warm, natural beige color. 🪡

We are so thrilled to collaborate with this inspiring and futureproof sustainable fashion brand. Go check them out! 🫂

Every year, millions of men, women and children are forced to leave their homes to escape conflict and persecution. Newcomers can add great value to host societies if given the chance.

At Makers Unite, we have 3 key aims to make the fashion a more socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable industry.

1️⃣ Showcasing the talents of newcomers to change the narrative about migration

2️⃣ Supporting brands in becoming more sustainable and inclusive

3️⃣ Encouraging design processes where every voice is heard and included.

Our mission is to connect the makers and unite the people.

Thrilled to announce this collaboration with .official !

STYGR was founded by Dutch sisters Florine and Paulette Stijger. They initially handcrafted each jacket themselves in their studio in Haarlem. However, as the popularity of their bomber jackets grew, they realized that they needed a suitable partner to help them expand their brand while remaining true to their slow fashion principles. We are so thrilled that they have found and chose us! 🤝

Understanding the environmental impact of the fashion industry, STYGR is dedicated to doing things differently. They produce their garments in small quantities, reducing waste and adding to their exclusivity. By prioritizing longevity and durability over fleeting trends, STYGR's bomber jackets inspire lasting connections with their wearers. 🌱

Stay tuned for their first collection produced by us, scheduled next month, in September! ✨

The Robot Bag was created for the purpose of ’s ‘Dear Sir/Madam: HOPE’ SS19 collection launch, as a limited edition bag that represents the future of co design bringing our voices and creativity together.

It represents co-creation at its finest.

After a collaboration at Het Manifeest 2017, Bas Kosters and Makers Unite realized the similarities they shared in purposeful design. Bas visited Makers Unite ́s atelier where he continued discussions with the Makers about what hope meant to them. Based on these conversations and the raw live-vest materials that characterize the work of Makers Unite, the designer developed the Robot Bag.
