'Wil' is easy to misinterpret. If you say 'Ik wil' then it does not mean I will
'Ik wil' means I want
Ik wil winnen = I want to win
Ik wil slapen = I want to sleep
Once again... 'Ik wil' does not mean I will... Just think of willpower... that should do the trick 😉

Does your Dutch spelling suck now and then? Here is a first tip: Dutch words never end with v unless it is a kalashnikov...
So for example, if you write 'olijv' or 'ik blijv' or 'halv'? Then you know that it must be wrong...
Once again, Dutch words can end with f but never with v
That is why it must be 'olijf', 'ik blijf' (I stay), half....

'Even' in Dutch means a short moment or a little while and... if you like, you can also say 'eventjes'
With 'eventjes' you make even smaller again... It is a bit like biertje, stroopwafeltje or bitterballetje.
Here are some examples:
Ik drink eventjes koffie
Wacht (wait) eventjes...

'Dat is een mond vol' literally means that is a mouth full...
You can fill your mouth with stroopwafels, bitterballen and also with woorden (words)...
That is why 'Dat is een mond vol' could mean: Wow! That sounds amazing...
For example... you hear a certain job title.. Senior manager international customer loyalty satisfaction manager advisor... Can you believe it? Dat is een mond vol!

'Een tafel' is table in Dutch and.. I remember that as a child I had to remember 'tafels'....
1 x 6 = 6, 2 x 6 = 12...

'Fijne dag' is nice day and... you can simply say: 'Fijne dag!' You do not have to say 'Heb een fijne dag!'
The funny thing is that with 'Goede morgen' it is also 'Good morning!' You do not have to say: Have a good morning! 😉
