It's always wonderful to see happy parents that now have peace of mind and are proud of the skills that their little ones have learned. August 24 afternoon space available for 4 year olds and older! Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday lesson times! Email in the profile link 👆🏼
Proud dad moment here 🥰 Philip and his 3-year-old Julia Mae.
It is very shocking to hear how many parents have had small or big incidents with their little ones around water. Drowning happens very fast and very quiet and is therefore a concern for every parent.
Instead of building gates and telling children to stay away from water, we encourage to teach them what the water can do for them and how to deal with panic in the water. This way their relationship with water is a safe one for life.
Our goal at Children of the water is to make sure that EVERY child becomes a safe, happy and confident swimmer!

Victoria 3-1/2 as seen in this video is finishing out a swim-float-swim course, testing the skills we've learned during a 30 minute, one on one lesson, for 1-1/2 weeks. During the last part of the course we test these skills as we want to ensure that they are completely skilled and know how to react in the moment. There is a shock factor when falling into the water and it's important for children to be walked through that moment so they don't panic but use their skills as a reflex, ensuring their safety. We also use this moment to check if there is anything we can help improve in their confidence and trust in themselves as they perform these skills.

Parents often ask, “Can’t we come once a week?”
The reason why we don’t allow it, is because children learn quickly and safely by practicing daily…this is seen with Barret during a 10 day self-rescue course with us. Ask his mom! He wasn’t eager to float, but by practicing everyday, he dared to let go, turn, and float!
Daily lessons allow trust to be built, and fear is overcome as children learn to trust themselves! Every lesson is built upon the previous lesson, building momentum in your child’s confidence, conquering fear, and learning these newfound skills.
Sign up for a 10-day self-rescue course and see how your child can have this amazing experience in the water!

Barret, our little champ! 3-1/2 years old and on his 3rd lesson actually swimming with our amazing new Amsterdam family member .hoogervorst!
The first couple lessons are all about connection and building relationship, but when that trust is founded this is the result: The beautiful realization of how much fun swimming is, using newfound skills ☺️
Sign up as waiting lists are forming! Limited spots open in March/April!

Henk 22 months-old conquered the float confidently again after a break in swimming. During a self-rescue course we do our best to help them conquer their fear, but it’s important to keep practicing after you’ve finished a self-rescue course, in order to keep confidence levels up and children happy in the water.
They don’t forget these sensory reflex skills, but their fear may get in the way of performing them as optimally as we would like to see. Just as any new skill set learned, children need to keep performing it in order to do it to the best of their ability.
Maintenance lessons are available to schedule please email [email protected]
A few time slots still available to join a course in February and March! Sign up quickly and get your child prepared for your next holiday 🏝☀️

Restrictions have lifted and Monday we are swimming again!!
Ella 2 years old loves swimming but she wasn't all smiles during the initial lessons. Mum and Dad can account for moments of crying or "Ella kan niet" while conquering her fear of lying on her back. However, as you can see from the movie after 2 weeks of daily lessons she is a confident swimmer/floater, even requesting to turn and float!
Sign up your child ASAP to avoid waiting lists and get them skilled before your next holiday, summer break, and even to achieve their A diploma more quickly.

Merry Christmas from our Children of The Water family to yours! 🎄🎁
📣Swim lessons are not available due to the current lockdown in Amsterdam 😔. Myrta will be contacting those who have lessons planned, to reschedule.
As we eagerly look forward to re-opening…offering a swim diploma is an important part of our work; as children work hard overcoming fear, gaining confidence, and achieving their self-rescue goals during a Children of The Water course!
Furthermore following a swim training class (from 3 years old) gets your child one step closer to achieving their A diploma, allowing them to swim without armbands in The Netherlands.
Sign up quickly to ensure your child isn’t on the waiting list for too long! Especially now with the extended lockdown.
