Remember. Release. Refocus.

Sometimes, all it takes is a pause.

A moment to remember who we were before the world told us who to be.
To remember the dreams we quietly tucked away.
The resilience we built in silence.
The love we gave, even when we didn’t know how to receive it.

Then comes the release.
The gentle shedding of what no longer fits:
Old stories, outdated roles, the pressure to be everything for everyone.
We don’t have to carry it all.
Letting go isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.

And finally, refocus.
Not on doing more.
But on being more you.
Refocus on what truly matters now.
On where your heart feels calm and your mind feels clear.

We’re allowed to start again—again and again if needed.
That’s the beauty of being human.

So today, maybe take a moment.
Remember.
Release.
Refocus.
And then… carry on, lighter.

You Don’t Need to Fit Their Mold

When I was younger, I often felt the world around me wanted me to fit in.

To be agreeable.
To play it safe.

To quiet the parts of me that were too curious, too bold, too different.

People and systems, sometimes subtly and sometimes directly, gave me the message:
“This is how you should be.”
The German way.
The Greek way.
And later, the Dutch way.

Each came with its own unspoken rules and ideas of what was considered right or acceptable.
But to me, no single culture holds all the answers.

Belonging goes deeper than that.
It’s not about adapting to fit one version of how to be.
It’s about being met where you truly are.
And for a while, I tried.
I adapted. I adjusted. I performed.
But with every step away from my true self, something important dimmed.

Eventually, I realized:
Fitting in is not the same as belonging.
Fitting in asks us to change who we are to be accepted.

Belonging begins when we show up as we are and are embraced for it.
A few days ago, I asked a client who is in a demanding relationship:
“Do you want to fit in or do you want to belong?”
It landed. Because deep down, we all know the difference.

Another client grew up between two cultures and never quite felt at home in either.
He described this constant restlessness inside him.

Like he was always translating himself, trying to match his surroundings.

And I asked him:
“What does home mean to you if you show up as you are?”
That question softened something in him.

Because maybe home isn’t a place.
Maybe it’s a feeling that begins when we stop trying to fit in and start allowing ourselves to simply be.
In work, in leadership, in life, it’s tempting to conform.

But the greatest impact doesn’t come from blending in.
It comes from showing up fully.

Authentically. Powerfully.

So if you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit, maybe that’s your strength.
You weren’t meant to follow the script.
You were meant to write a new one.

💬 What parts of yourself have you been holding back in order to fit in?
And what might change if you let them lead?

Authenticity is a powerful tool.
There’s a fire inside you 🔥 full of ideas, emotions, and drive.

But somewhere along the way, we start wearing masks. Maybe it’s to fit in, maybe to look “professional,” or maybe because it feels easier than showing up as our real selves.

At first, the mask feels like protection. It shields us from judgment, expectations, and the vulnerability of being seen for who we truly are.

But over time, it gets heavier. It dims the light ✨ inside you, and eventually, you might forget what that light even looked like.

Think of it like a flower 🌸. The mask is like dirt covering its petals. At first, it protects the flower from harsh elements, but eventually, it struggles to grow and reach the light. The beauty is hidden.

When you start peeling away those layers, bit by bit, that’s when the magic happens. You don’t just show up you shine 🌟.

You lead with clarity, create with purpose, and build real connections not the kind that are put on just to impress.
In business, authenticity isn’t just something nice to have. It’s everything. In a world where trust is key, being real with clients, partners, and teams builds that trust 🤝.

People might follow a facade for a while, but it’s the real, authentic you that creates lasting trust. Masks might offer temporary protection, but they can’t sustain meaningful connections in the long run.

When you lead from a place of authenticity, you inspire loyalty, spark innovation, and build strong, creative teams 🚀. Your clients trust you to have their best interests at heart because they feel your integrity.

In relationships, whether at work or in life, authenticity creates deeper, more meaningful connections ❤️.

When we show up as our true selves, it encourages others to do the same. That’s where real trust and respect grow. Wearing a mask just creates distance, but authenticity? It brings people closer.

Living authentically isn’t just about being true to yourself in every moment it’s about deciding, every day, to own who you are, regardless of what others expect. It’s about leading yourself first, so you can lead others from a genuine place.
Now, I’m not saying it’s easy.

Breaking free from the masks we’ve worn takes courage. There are moments of doubt and vulnerability, for sure. But the payoff? It’s a life and leadership rooted in integrity, connection, and real impact 🌱.

Because when you lead with authenticity, you don’t just follow the script you write your own 🖋️.

And now Im curious to hear your thoughts. a) What does authenticity look like for you?b) Why do you think we sometimes feel the need to wear masks

When People Don’t See You Clearly
Sometimes, people don’t misunderstand you because you’re confusing.

Sometimes, they don’t want to see you clearly because it would make them uncomfortable.

Let’s think about it like this:

Imagine you’re in a big classroom where everyone is supposed to sit still and color inside the lines.
But you? You like to use all the colors and draw outside the lines, making something amazing!

The teachers might call you “trouble” not because your drawing is bad, but because it’s different, and different feels scary when everyone just wants things to stay the same.

Most groups like work, teams, or even families sometimes like it when everything feels easy and stays the same.

They don’t always want to change, even if change would make things better.

Last time, I told you about something called the Halo and Horn Effect.

It’s when people make a quick decision about you good or bad based on just one thing they notice.

Like if you do one thing wrong, they might think everything you do is bad.

Or if you do one thing really well, they might think you’re good at everything, even when that’s not true.

These quick judgments can make it hard for people to really understand you, at school, at work, and even with friends.

And sometimes, it goes even deeper:
People might not want to really see who you are because it would make them question all the rules they’re used to.

It’s easier for them to label you than to change everything they believe.

So instead of looking closely at how special and creative you are, they might say,
“You’re too much” or
“You’re doing it wrong.”

And if that happens a lot, you might start to think:
“Maybe something’s wrong with me.”

You might try to be quieter, simpler, or just do what everyone else does so they’ll like you.

How Can You Stop Being Misjudged at Work and in Life?

Have you ever seen someone move up quickly while you’re still waiting to be recognized?

Or felt misunderstood in a relationship, no matter how much you show up and give?

It’s frustrating 😤 especially when you’re doing the work, staying committed, and still not being seen the way you deserve.
Here’s the thing: it’s not always about what you do.

It’s often about how others perceive you 👀.

The human brain is wired for shortcuts. We form quick impressions, and those snap judgments can quietly shape careers, leadership opportunities, and relationships 🧠.

Two cognitive biases explain a lot of this: the Halo Effect and the Horn Effect.

The Halo Effect: Notice one strong positive, like someone speaking confidently, and we assume they’re great at everything 🌟.

The Horn Effect: Notice one small negative, like a missed deadline, and suddenly that person gets labeled as unreliable 🚩.

These biases don’t just live in offices or boardrooms. They show up everywhere: team dynamics, hiring decisions, friendships, even families.

And if you’re not conscious of them, they can hold you back or lead you to misjudge others.

Here’s what’s important to remember:
No one is just one thing.

We are all evolving, multi-dimensional, and more than our first impressions 🌱.
👉 Next time you feel unfairly judged or catch yourself judging too fast, hit pause ⏸️.

Ask yourself:
“What else might be true?”
“What am I not seeing yet?”
When we challenge first impressions, we make room for better leadership, stronger teams, deeper trust, and real growth 🌟.

Perception is powerful, but it’s not permanent. You can shape how you’re seen, and you can choose to see others more fully, too.
What’s one time a first impression misled you, for better or worse? I’d love to hear 👇

When Power Clashes with Integrity

As a Transformational Coach and contemporary artist, I often explore inner change and emotional release. Both in my sessions and on canvas. 🎨✨
Some time ago, I began an experiment merging coaching with creativity.

I invited a close friend, someone carrying an old emotional wound from her school days, for an exploratory session.

As I coached her, I quietly sketched, listening deeply to her story.

Back in primary school, a classmate betrayed her trust.
But what hurt most wasn’t the act itself, it was the teacher’s response.

It clashed with the values she was raised with: loyalty, fairness, integrity.

Even as a child, she felt the contradiction. Her parents were called in.

It became a defining moment.
She didn’t lose trust in herself.
But she lost trust in the system.
That early tension between inner truth and outer authority followed her into adulthood.

In her work, she struggled with power dynamics.
Not from lack of confidence,
but from constantly trying to stay true to her values in systems that didn’t reflect them.

During our session, something shifted.

She softened. She found the words.
Her heart opened.

Weeks later, during the U.S. elections, I began to paint.

Watching someone in power act in ways that felt completely misaligned with my values stirred something in me.

A quiet voice rose from within:
My heart stays open.

No one has the power to shut it down.
I stay connected to love.
That’s when Heart Unleashed came to life.
A response
To her story
To mine

It mirrored her softening, her clarity, her release
A wildflower blooming in the desert
A quiet rebellion against anything that tries to disconnect us from who we truly are

When I showed her the painting, I didn’t say a word about our session.
But she knew. She said, “That’s exactly how I felt. That’s what I saw in my inner eyes. The flow, the colours—everything.”

💬 Have you ever felt that tension between staying true to your values and moving through a world that doesn’t always reflect them?
How did you find your way back to yourself?

Easter reminds me that transformation asks for release.

Letting go isn’t just about leaving something behind, it’s about stepping out of what feels safe,
and into what feels true.

Out of the comfort zone.
Out of the roles, the patterns, the stories we’ve outgrown.

Into a deeper honesty.

A fuller presence.

A version of ourselves that is more real than ever before.

This season, I’m choosing courage over comfort.
Truth over perfection.
Expansion over fear.

What are you ready to rise into?

🌱 When Work and Quality of Life Pull You in Different Directions 🌱

Ever feel like your priorities clash with the ones you love? 🤔

Work can feel like a lifeline—stable, purposeful, productive. 🏢💼
But your partner? They crave presence, connection, and shared moments. 💖👫

You’re speeding ahead to provide or prove something.
They’re asking you to slow down and just be with them. ⏳⚡

It’s not about one being right or wrong.
It’s about two deeply human needs: stability and connection. ⚖️

And no—you don’t have to choose.
It is possible to create space for both. 💡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

I see this in my clients often. And I’ve been there too. 🌿
It’s not always easy—but it’s absolutely possible.

✨ What if success meant honoring both worlds?
Start small. Be intentional. Let progress—not perfection—lead the way. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

💬 Where can you find that sweet spot between work and quality of life?
