LETTING GO of everything that happened in 2019. It's definetely not been the year of major impact that we wanted to create with Sea Green. Despite a few highlights, including interesting new partnerships with a few major players in the Dutch food market for next year, not much happened. The hardest thing to swallow was that we were left with 70.000 burgers from an adventure in retail, which were really hard to sell out before their sell by date. Fortunately, creative people like always come up with solutions. Which means that you can now 'save' a burger by eating it in delicious flatbread at his new RESTaurant near in . if you see the sign in the 2nd picture, you know you're close. ONE HOUR BEFORE I surfed this wave, I felt terrible. Tired and Letharic. I'd done too much surfing, with too little to eat. Only to be reminded, that good nutrition is the best ammunition for another surf session. When I paddled out, I was still a bit dizzy. But then this beauty came along and everything fell into place: Food can do good. And yes, it can even help you score that barrel!

DAYS ARE GETTING SHORTER and that means: time for stamppot. For those without Dutch roots: stammpot can be any vegetable mashed with... Mash potato. The all time favorite (and arguably the Dutch national signature dish) is stamppot with .To any American out there: we've been eating kale like that for centuries! But now it gets interesting: In this picture, it's not kale you see. The looks are quite similar, the taste more powerful, the nutrient density at least twice as high. It's beyond kale. We won't call it sea-kale, but it gives you at least a hint into what can do for your well-being and tastebuds. Pretty way to start autumn, don't you think?

FRESH SEA SPAGHETTI Sometimes nature can get me high. In terms of colour and flavour. this picture was taken last summer near in Norway. I turned this seaweed into a couscous salad and served it to my two wonderful fellow travellers who I just met a few days before. Such good memories! What is your favorite seaweed memory from last summer?

Wellicht klinkt het te mooi om waar te zijn, maar het voor velen nog onbekende zeewier is in staat bij te dragen aan een oplossing voor klimaatproblemen en voedseltekort. Zeewier kan namelijk onder water dezelfde rol vervullen als onze regenwouden boven water: het heeft de bijzondere gave om CO2 om te zetten in zuurstof. Daarnaast is zeewier een goede toevoeging aan onze dagelijkse voeding. Het zit boordevol gezonde voedingsstoffen en is breed inzetbaar in de keuken. Het feit dat zeewier razendsnel groeit en geen extra zoet water nodig heeft om te groeien, maakt het tot hét voedingsmiddel van de toekomst.
