Recently I’ve been reflecting on how compassion can actually be protective — not something soft or passive, but something that helps us stay open without losing clarity.
When we learn to include ourselves with kindness, resilience grows naturally. We don’t have to harden in order to be strong.
This Sunday I’m holding a 90-minute online Monthly Meeting where we’ll explore compassion as a way of living. Grounded, embodied, and real.

Most of us don’t notice how exhausted we are
until we slow down enough to feel it.
Yin is the practice of stopping.
Of softening the places that have been holding too much.
Of letting your whole system exhale.
If you’re longing for rest, for clarity, for a moment to breathe…
you’re so welcome to join me this Saturday.

Yesterday, a quarter of a million people walked through Amsterdam.
Not for entertainment. Not for spectacle.
But for the people of Palestine — for mothers who bury their children,
for children who no longer have homes,
for a nation fighting simply to exist.
I wasn’t there. I was here in Portugal — watching, feeling, proud.
Proud of everyone who showed up in red, who gave their Sunday to stand for life and dignity.
While they are bombed and starved,
others walked in peace — carrying their names, their pain, their right to live.
To everyone in Palestine:
we see you.
We grieve with you.
We will not turn away.
If this feels far away, I understand.
It did for me once too.
But the more we look, the harder it becomes to stay silent.
And real change only begins when enough of us are willing to truly see.
May our voices rise louder than the silence of governments.
May the world remember what humanity truly means.

✨ Grateful for this evening
Tonight I sat on the beach with dear friends to celebrate a birthday, and we were given one of those sunsets that makes you pause and breathe a little deeper. The sky reminded me how simple moments — the sand between your fingers, being with people you love, the glow of the sun sinking into the horizon — are more than enough.
In yoga we talk about santosha — contentment. Not the kind that comes from everything being perfect, but the kind that arrives when we notice what’s already here, already whole.
Tonight, I felt that. And I’m grateful. 🌿
We can’t build true trust with ourselves if we’re constantly avoiding what’s uncomfortable.
Take 3 minutes with this:
💭 Close your eyes and ask,
“What emotions or sensations do I tend to avoid or push down?”
No judgment — just noticing. You might be surprised what shows up.
We’ll be exploring this and so much more in my upcoming 90 min zoom session: Unshakeable Trust — Where Even Doubt Is Welcome 🌿 Aug 23rd at 4pm Amsterdam time.

“When we stop numbing, something unexpected happens…” 🌿
(From a previous live Zoom gathering)
Yes, pain may surface. Discomfort. Even tears.
But underneath it is the same energy we’ve been pressing down — and it’s our energy. Our aliveness.
On Aug 23, we’ll explore how to meet what we’ve been avoiding, and open the door to living more fully now.
