Luistergoed is a music program aimed to give high quality musical orientation to children between 5 months and 4 years old. Its goal is to stimulate all areas of the developing child and above all her/his musical development, within a nurturing rich musical environment. The Luistergoed method follows the principle that children learn music in the same way they learn their mother language. This met

hod is based on several acclaimed musical pedagogies, including those of Orff, Kodaly, Ward and Gordon (Music Learning Theory), and it follows the most current research on early childhood musical development. The Luistergoed Music Class

During the music class, children are guided by Matilde Castro with the support of all caregivers. Active and involved participation from everybody is essential for the making of a rich and playful music environment, where children can feel safe and comfortable. Music activities include: listening, singing, dancing, coordinating movement with music, playing, experimenting with materials and music instruments, imitating and improvising. Adults are required not to speak during class. Words give way to beautiful sounds, movements, playing and singing.
