Diamond of the self 23/05/2020

All this time for reflection has us struck with silence.. As we have moved away from most of the obligations placed upon us by the form we have taken we suddenly bask in this spaciousness that allows us so much room to breath it leaves us lightheaded. All that extra oxygen brought us to space out over our story, values and mission and how all these challenges along the way have really only strengthened it all.

And so, as we reflect we wanted to share some of those contemplations with you. Whether you find them inspiring, entertaining or simply a substitute for your intense longing back to our dance floor, vibes and sound system... Hopefully they at least provide a solid head spin and perhaps some food for your own expansive contemplations.

Most of all we hope to reconnect with you, hearing your thoughts on the matter - and yes - surrendering to the current virtual reality of life and communication.

We miss your mind blowingly diverse perspectives, the random encounters and topics on the roof terrace, and definitely your epic dance moves. Feel free to share a little virtual flavour of them all in response to these heartfelt ramblings of our mad professor JACK on individuality and expression!

We see and hear many distraught people around us, captured by fear and worry. Effects are far reaching and until further notice ALL our events for March have been cancelled.
Not attempting to make this situation less than it's impact on people, but also taking our responsibility to not get caught in the collective vibration of anxiety, we'd like to share this message of love and reassurance.

Life is vibration dear ones, please take a moment to come back to your centre if you feel influenced by all the turbulence around us currently. Connecting to source is the best protection you can give yourself from anything that doesn't serve your highest purpose.

Here's some inspiration to ground yourself in the present and therewith protect yourself (and those around you) with some source vibrations.

Our hearts go out to all those affected.
We hope to get back to ravin' all that tension out of the air as soon as possible.

Have you felt it last night? SUPER full moon vibrations. Made us dream back to this one. Do you remember when we launched this?

I don't know about you but we tend to go a little crazy during these times, and nothing helps us more to release some of that energy than dancing!

Lucky for you there's plenty of opportunities for that coming weekend.

IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS 20 MARCH 2020
Excitable and terrifying all at once, our first edition of Voluntary Friday will launch 20 March and we are still looking for some volunteers!

For the Rumpus Room Friday shifts will be extra short (max 4 hours) so you have plenty of time to explore and play during this production of The Rumpus Room.

They'll surely bring you an intimate basement rave setting, and the idea of having unfamiliar friends joining us as volunteers that night wonderfully aligns with their origin story: an after among this close group of friends that got out of hand and is now brought to the grounds of JACK.

Perhaps you are still looking for a place to expose your art, or practise a performance, or simply to give back a little something to the rave community... We'd LOVE to have you!

Meet Oriental Deep an event organisation founded by friends, raised in a place where one of the oldest civilisations began: the Middle East. A place of myths, stories, and warmth. As a center of the world, many ancient cultures merge to make a beautiful piece of art colouring the place with music, knowledge.. etc.

"We are all one and there's no difference between us, no languishes only harmony, melody, and music. We want to tell a story about this precious gift. We want to invite you into a culture of opening up, sharing and learning. A safe space, where we can invent ourselves, where we dance and connect. Our dream is to spread our peaceful message throughout society. To replace fear and hate by openness and love. To connect through the music and environment. We want to invite newcomers to explore the depths of their souls, fears, and insecurities. To dance freely with strangers and to discover that they are no strangers at all".

As every beautiful story, the idea of Orientaldeep originates from life experience, made of positive and negative events, contrasting emotions and deep resonances: creating an urge for transformation.
They have lived their lives seeking and creating warmth in every aspect of life.

They have found that rhythm and movements connect people through their soul rather than their background. Knowing so, they aspire to create a safe environment where artists can freely express themselves. Where music and rhythm will bring us together and different cultures will mix into one. Where the paint will capture our feelings and where dancing will be the form of communication.

They want to re-invent our world. To live with fantasy and spread colours. They will create an open space for artists, so they will always have a place to re-invent our world. They feel the desire to create endless space for storytellers, where infinite stories, dances, fantasies, voodoos, and red sands narrate their way into our reality. Where we can be insatiable listeners and creators of bright colours. Where images fade into sounds, flowing into a river of visions, inventing a piece of music for a soul.

This is a place where fantasy, stories, and reality melt into a unique twine of music and natural sounds. A space where artists are free to whisper their stories through music and where listeners are dancers freeing their souls. Oozing and lively souls waving at the rhythm of infinite magic and dreams. Dancing into a million shades of light. Into an explosion of DEEP sounds.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR OPINION

In a different category than our usual introductions we would like to shine a light on one of our current heart projects. As you must know by now, playful learning and experimentation are central to what happens inside JACK and we are always keeping our eyes out for new ways to play around with those values. Dawn is breaking and we've got our scope set on another expansive collaboration.

Lately our values have taken the form of five creative students in Leisure & Event management, who will organise a unique event for you under our roof! May 22nd, during the new moon they will take you on a spiritual adventure where you will experience the dark side of the moon up close and personal. As they make the preparations to dive deep into space with you, they would like to obtain some insight in the views of our beloved tribe (That's you!).

Without further ado, please share with us:

> What do you know about the new moon?
> Do psychedelic dub, slowhouse and psytrance music appeal to you?
> Would you like to be an ambassador instead of paying for your entrance?
> For a 'new moon' event, what kind of decoration or side programming comes to mind? Name anything you would love to see or do!

-- Do you have a passion for this theme or for Club JACK? Become an ambassador and support us in organising this event! More information about how you can become an ambassador and how you come to the event for free will follow soon! --

Stay tuned!

We know 'out of the ordinary' is sort of our thing, but March 14th we will throw something utterly radiant at you.

We don't adhere to many rules and are as flexible in our shape as the slimy lady who one day dropped our jaws as she danced with a squid on our massage table, but we can't escape the pattern that started to form around JACK as an underground club for 21 and over.

Our response, of course, is to break that pattern by doing something crazy, and this time that will be a glow in the dark soda-pop disco for the ages 16 - 24!
The whole spectrum of genres in music will pass through your eardrums in one night as we open our doors to the fresh and funky ones in the scene.

Your first chance to attend our Voluntary Friday initiative is March 20th, where you may expect an intimate, heart-sourced living room rave that will offer a stage to upcoming artists, creating and/or exposing on the beat.
