Our Vision Statement is "Discipling Followers of Jesus Christ to fulfil their God given purpose". It's our hearts desire to see people bloom like a beautiful flower in it's due time. The people in the world have a deep longing to know why they exist here on earth, what is their purpose as they go through life? We do know where to find that answer, when we begin to look at where we are coming from
and Who created us mankind, when we ask the question to the one who originally designed us then we will know why. As a couple we have been working for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) since 2008. What is YWAM International?:
It is an international missions movement focusing on three major ministries:
-Evangelism
-Mercy Ministries
-Training Missionaries (UofN) University of the Nations
At present we as YWAM has:
-30,000 volunteers over 180 countries
-800+ locations worldwide
-International
-Interdenominational
-Our Motto: “To know God and Make Him Known”
All of YWAM workers are called to volunteer their time, resources & talents, and no one gets paid. The organisation does not give a salary, not even the founders of the mission. But rather we get our support from a team of ministry partners. That could be from:
-Friends, Family
-Church
-Acquaintances
-And some other forms
Local YWAM Base:
We as a couple have worked in many YWAM locations, I worked in the Philippines for 3 years, then to the US, then to Nepal for 5 Years. My wife as well for her first 3 years in South Africa, then to the US. Then she met me and we have worked in Nepal as a married couple for 5 years. Now at present we work in YWAM Amsterdam. Main aim is to serve the city:
Amsterdam is home for the nations. There are over 180 nationalities living in the city and the need is big. Our present ministry is amongst:
-The Cleft Team: Men and Women behind the windows in the Red Light District.
-We have Hidden treasures (working amongst the homeless).
-Evangelism in the city centre.
-And of course training: (Discipleship Training; School of Biblical Studies...) Our Role:
Me Christopher is involved in the organisations legacy work in "Ending Bible Poverty". I have been involved in training and specifically in Biblical Studies. My main work is in Bible engagement which I do a lot of Bible teaching in the Bible schools of YWAM globally. Jenneke is a trained social worker and is currently getting a certification for "Coaching and Psychotherapy". By giving coaching and counselling to YWAM Workers as well as outside the organisation. The aim is to help people become whole in their personal lives first with their relationship with God, themselves and to others around them. We look forward to share with you what we do and build this community together. We know we cannot do this on our own but with the help of this growing community we can rebuild peoples lives one person at a time. We invite you to take part in our vision:
"Discipling Followers of Jesus Christ to fulfil their God given purpose"
