Every skipper was a nervous docker once.
The difference between then and now is practice, a good instructor, and knowing what to do when the wind has other ideas.
Have you ever had a docking moment you’d rather forget?
One motion. Two seconds. Fender free.
A good fender hitch isn’t meant to last forever. It’s meant to hold when you need it, and let go when you don’t. That’s seamanship in a single pull.
Which knot do you reach for first?
Ready about. Helm to lee. Lee ho.
Three commands that every sailor learns early and spends a lifetime getting right. Master them, and the whole boat moves with purpose.

A jibe done right is one of the most satisfying manoeuvres on the water. A jibe done wrong puts someone in the water, or worse.
Centre the main. Stay low. Hold to weather. And when you hear jibe ho, you move.
