Dear T-bird,

Each year, the Thunderbird Career Management Center (CMC) hosts mock interview opportunities for current students to prepare them for the recruiting season.

Mock interviews by alumni provide vital practice and feedback for students while boosting their confidence in an open, friendly environment. The experience can also help alumni refine their interviewing and feedback techniques. As one of the students shared,

"It has been insightful, a chance to reflect and know what to say and what not to say during an interview. I really appreciate the opportunity to practice my responses to common interview questions and receive feedback on my performance."

Join us as a virtual mock interviewer on Tuesday, August 20 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Arizona time via Zoom.

How do virtual mock interviews work?

Participate virtually
Each interview is between 30 to 45 minutes
CMC staff will help with the matching and scheduling based on your availability and responses

Meet our new director….

As Thunderbird School of Global Management enters its 10th year as part of Arizona State University, a new decade welcomes the next director general and dean, Charla Griffy-Brown. Her post begins July 1; in the interim, she is serving as acting dean and director general.

John Cook invites T-Birds to the annual SECA Kongress being held on July 3rd at the Swiss Stock Exchange. Rock Lake has been a prime sponsor and organizer of the SECA Kongress for the past 15 years. This year 2024 will be the 40th anniversary of the founding of SECA and the 20th anniversary of our annual Kongress, which is held in the SIX Convention Point.

SECA is the Swiss Private Equity and Corporate Finance Association based in Zug, which represents the who’s who of private capital in Switzerland. It is the representative body for Switzerland’s private equity, venture capital and corporate finance industries, and official advocate and lobbying organization of the private capital markets in Bern and at the European private equity association “InvestEurope” in Brussels. Our members represent Swiss institutional and private investors, banks, asset managers, advisors, auditors, lawyers, consultants, academics, technology players and startups. This event attracts 300+ attendees from Switzerland, Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The theme of the 20th Kongress is “Value Creation Through Innovation”. The morning session will include eight solo speakers, followed by luncheon roundtable on nuclear fusion, followed by four afternoon panels covering innovations in healthcare, impact investing, emerging markets and real estate. You can register online directly if interested, or let me know. Once again John is able to extend a free entrance to all Thunderbird alumni.
