🎨🖍🌼Saraswati is a well-known deity in both the Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. In both religions, she is considered to be the goddess and patron of the arts, music, language, literature, poetry and philosophy.
Anybody who relies on her with faith will see their knowledge, mental clarity and memory increase. One's voice will become majestic and beautiful, one will have debating skills that allow them to persuade anybody, and others will listen to and accept what they say.
🌷💮This course is suitable for students of all levels. It is great chance for students to learn the traditional artistic process of drawing Buddhas in the Tibetan tradition. From the first steps of setting up the grid to ensure the proper proportions up to the finest details, you will learn age old skills that form the basis of all thangka paintings. Meanwhile you receive the inspiration of Buddha Saraswati through meditations and mantra sessions that will undoubtedly enhance your creative process.

🕊🧘 A wonderful retreat with Ven. Amy Miller
Start: Thursday evening - ends Sunday afternoon
Where: Our Buddhist retreat center with your own room & wonderful vegetarian meals.
🌍Our external world today often appears littered with division, violence, and alienation. Rather than grow dismayed by external experiences that show cruelty and heartlessness, let us explore how our vulnerability can become a source of resilience and positive change.
This long weekend retreat offers a meaningful pause, a chance to reconnect with inner strength, inner wisdom and compassion. The beautiful Green Tara practice explores a path of inner transformation by being present with our pain, fear, and aversion. This retreat incorporates Lam Rim (Stages of the Path) meditation along with the sadhana and mantra recitation of Green Tara. By opening our hearts in kindness to ourselves and others, the potential exists for our external reality to shift more beneficially as well.
According to Buddhist tradition, Tara was once a devoted princess who generated bodhicitta—the aspiration to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. When advised that she should pray to be reborn as a man to achieve enlightenment, she refused, pointing out that enlightenment is not dependent on gender. She vowed instead to take rebirth again and again as a woman until all beings were free from suffering, becoming an enduring symbol of wisdom, compassion, and fearless enlightened activity in female form.
In doing this Tara practice, inner and outer obstacles can be eliminated to help us develop our minds, cultivate our courage and confidence and accumulate the positive conditions needed to deepen our spiritual practice. Some background in Buddhism is helpful.
Join us for this nourishing weekend of practice, reflection, and renewal—and become part of a shared path of compassion that brings benefit both within and beyond ourselves.

A special weekend with Geshe Sonam Ngodrup. With new and renewed vows and a Jenang (initiation) on the 4 deities of Kadampa. And a wonderful vegetarian potluck lunch outside (unfortunately not for the online participants...🙂), always good to eat together and share the food everybody brings to the center. 🍜🍇🍞🍈🌽

📿❤ Compassion isn’t something we simply aspire to — it’s a state we can actively cultivate through practice. This weekend retreat invites practitioners into a powerful exploration of Lama Tsongkhapa Guru Yoga as a direct method for awakening compassion, clarity, and inner strength.
📚🧘 Across the weekend, we’ll unpack the meaning and purpose behind deity practice—why we visualize enlightened beings, why mantra shapes the mind, and how these methods open the heart. Through guided sessions, discussion, and integrated meditation, participants will learn how Guru Yoga becomes the unifying thread: a practice that connects us to wisdom, dissolves obstacles, and brings the vast qualities of enlightenment into our own experience.
Together, we’ll build a clear and practical structure for practicing Lama Tsongkhapa Guru Yoga, understanding how it supports daily life and deepens our capacity to meet the world with kindness. Perfect for intermediate practitioners looking to strengthen their foundation and re-energize their path, this retreat offers a grounded yet inspiring approach to transforming the mind from the inside out.
